First off, thanks in advance for any feed back.
What is happening is, I have a friend that I have been talking to about FarScape for about two years now. She said that if I loaned her some of my DVD's she would watch them. I asked if she would commit to at least 4 hours worth and she agreed. Now I am thinking Die me. Dichotomy and LIars guns and money would be a great 4 hours worth. Anyone else have any ideas?

I always try to gauge the person's interest. The four you suggested are the ones I go for if they like action. If they like comedy....Crackers Don't Matter, Out Of Their Minds,
Scratch N' Sniff and Lava's a Many Splendored Thing. Romance...try for 4 that show the progress of John and Aeryn. Cool aliens...well, first take her to Image Creative Partnership portfolio: http://www.imagecreative.net/ and then choose accordingly if she becomes intriqued by particular aliens.

Good luck and heaps of praise for sticking with it!

Hugs,

Those are the ones I use most often. It worked again last week! LOL!!

I also include the Farscape Undressed special so they get a primer on what's going on.

I also don't give them the LGM ones and the DMD ones together. I had one guy get all confused when I did that because he somehow mixed up the tapes and didn't watch them in the right order.... sheesh!!! :D :D :D

...and, if you give them the DMD ones, you have to get into the whole story arch about there being 2 johns, which is great once you've already gotten them hooked already with LGM!!

Well, now remember, your friend is female, so she's not necessarily always wowed by action. I like to hook them with volume 2.3 (Out Of Their Minds, My Three Crichtons, and the Look At The Princess trilogy). The first two are nice stand alones that show off the rich relationships between the crew (along with some of the wacky humor). The trilogy, too, shows the complex relationship between John and Aeryn. Generally speaking, women respond well to the complexities of the interactions between the characters. I don't like to show episodes to newbies that reveal too much of the master story arc -- I prefer to let people to discover that for themselves. But, you know your friend the best, and what might spark her interest.

Definitely look at your friends interest then select the episodes for her to watch. Check out the thread Martincore has suggested. I remember that discussion there were good ideas on it.

Some suggestions my opinion of course, for romance The Look at the Princess trilogy is good, for action Liars, Guns and Money trilogy is also good, comedy you,ve got Crackers Don't Matter, Lava's a Many Splendored Thing etc.

Good Luck!
