The other day SFI-FI author Robert J. Sawyer, was on Space talking about Science Fiction's love of worm holes, in both written fiction and on TV/movies. It was just a short blub to fill empty space between shows, but they were using scenes from Farscape to illustrate.

Wih I lived in Canada cause I hear Space is much better than skiffy. Then again there is the cold weather thing up there. Not that cold weather is bad but I live in Florida and barely survive the winters here.

Lol, I live in Victoria, we get snow maybe 2-3 days a year. I used to live in a snowy/deep freeze area, and frankly, I don't miss it at all. Other than for hockey season, ice and snow are a pain in the butt.

Oh, and I have seen SCI-FI chanel, and I do think overall Space is better. The only thing is that Space is sometimes behind SCI-FI when it comes to release dates, so we have to wait a bit for the good stuff. Right now, as far as I know ( I could be wrong) Space isn't even showing the Mini at all. If this is true, we need to get on top of this.

Actually the mini is not available in Canada yet (or something like that) They said they will air the mini once there is a canadian distributor, they can get it from. But other then being a bit behind SPACE I feel is pretty good, just for the fact that they air FS Daily, during the day.

Yeah, but Space thinks Farscape is cool. SCI-FI on the other hand... I think this show haunts their dreams at night; well maybe not the show, but the fans sure are giving them nightmares. Wouldn't have it any other way.

As for the weather, I'd rather have the cold. You can always bundle up with more layers to stay warm.

When it's a bloody 35*C out, you can only get so naked before people start complaining :flee: :moon:

I live for the summers here. To me winter is just tooooooo grelling long. Oh and have seen that small segment with Robert J Sawyer. Yep the people at SPACE even offered to help co-fund FS when they first heard it was cancelled. From what I gather the SciFi channel said no. Lets haunt sciffy's nightmares Mwahahahaha :ewink:

If space offered to help co-fund Farscape when it was cancelled then what was wrong with Sci-fi? They didn't know a good deal when it stared them in the face.

It sounds like Space is good if it shows Farscape daily in the daytime. Good for promoting more viewership. I can't believe they haven't contracted to show it yet. Need to start a letter writing campaign then.

So it gets pretty cold up there but in Victoria it doesn't snow alot. Lol here. We've been getting alot of snow in the winter. The ski resorts like it. I'm near two. How warm are the summers there? 80-90's F.

Summer in Victoria is usually in the 20-25 Celsius range, winter is in the 5-10 range. Note to non-metric people: Freezing is 0 Celsius. HEHE.

I hope Skiffy rots in the hot place for what they did to the show. Space is great for trying to save it, but it is too small a market in Canada for them to go it alone. :( We need to get Skiffy out of the picture, that is job #1 in getting the show back. As long as we are at the whims of those dorks we will never be safe.

Anyone else having trouble logging onto the Space board? Or is it just me?

Scaperbuddy,

Not to worry! We have been organising an e-mail/snail mail campaign for the Mini for a couple of months now, and we know we are having an impact because twice our efforts have been mentioned on HypaSpace. Space is planning to get the mini-series just as soon as it becomes available.

They said so.

Twice.

I have it on tape.

So we will get it *cross fingers* ... I just hope it won't be all that much later than you guys.

Oh and summer? Summers can be scorching. This last weekend we have been dealing with +30*C. And I am vacationing in the mountains - where it is supposed to be cool and refreshing.

Yeah, Spacecast.com is down, been that way since yesturday.

Good to hear you guys have been pestering Space about the Mini. Now if we could only get them to take on and fund a TV show for us. At least if they had the chance they might actaully do it. :) Die Skiffy Die. :D

I hope you guys get the mini too at the same time. I wonder if it will help if the American scapers write them. You said the market is small there. Are there not alot of scapers up there? Canada is such a large country.

Necron

Large country, small population. Only about 30 million peeps live here. I don't think there is any doubt that Space will show the Mini, it is just a matter of when they will show it. Space is too big a fan of Farscpae for them not to pick it up.

I hope for you guys it does not take long. You guys helped save the show it would not be justice to you guys to wait forever to see it.

I think Canadian scapers are very important and they live in a very beautiful country that I would love to visit sometime. I think it is great to talk to people from other countries as everyone has alot to add to the discussions from different points of views and we have alot to learn from one another!

Bravo for the Canadian Scapers in helping save the show. :aok: Can we help you in a letter writing campaign or something to get it sooner? We can tape it for you but then you have to watch it for the ratings!

oooh thank you!! Miss BG feels special now. Makes all the work we did for Toronto Trek feel even more worthwhile now :bounce:

Well concerning Space they are doing all they can (they even put us on TV!!!). All the stuff from Skiffy comes a couple of months late up here. It's not too big a deal for me. But gotta work on Blockbuster in Canada. Gotta find their mailing address. They don't carry scape at all. Shame on them. They said only cable shows do well for renting. Isn't Farscape a cble show? Gotta give them a reminder. Thanks for offering to help :D

Taking a lead from our very own Miss Bandana Girl, I've put together some contact info for Canada's two major video stores, Blockbuster and Rogers. I'm going to post it in a few different threads, so please forgive the repetition. My personal experience with both Blockbuster and Rogers is that very few outlets carry Farscape. Here's to changing that. Many thanks to anyone who is willing to help make some noise about this. Space airs Farscape despite low ratings. Having the series available at video stores could really increase the Canadian viewership in a big way, especially for the mini, whenever it's available.

 If this is true, then it really rings true with what I have thought all along. Skiffy wanted FS to just die and go away. If they would not accept co-funding, that really leaves no excuse. I believe they just wanted the show to die a fast death, so they could say "See? I told you we were right".

"THank you Doc Holiday for making Canadian scapers feel like they matter "

Canadians may be the wild card that gets Farscape going again. With the acceptable schedule that Space shows or at least showed maybe we got more eyeballs from reruns up there then the reruns in the good OLE USA.
