I would say this would be sufficient as my ideal version. Not in any particular timeslot.

Farscape
Stargate: Atlantis
Andromeda (It is watchable)
Battlestar Gallactica (sp?)

Very good lineup, OMHO.

I would be very happy with just Farscape season 5, and if you don't think of scifi, I wound't mind Angel season 6 (BUT ONLY WITH CC BACK ON THE SHOW, otherway, Angel sucks for me)

Angel is fair game. I cannot get into it myself, but I hear it is good. I kinda miss First Wave.

I'm glad someone else admits they like Andromeda. I like it too. I haven't seen Atlantis yet. But I taped it the other night. Will watch it today. I do like the line-up you mentioned for Sci-fi Friday. What about the regular Stargate? I like it too.

How odd to hear about a spinoff of SG1 on a scaper forum :), i was into stargate til the series ended but i havent heard of a new series airing on uk tv... but that may be due to the fact i havent watched tv for over 2 months maybe 4... so guys is this atlantis thing any good and is SG1 still alive?

Even funnier I heard sci fi are already doing ads on PKwar is that true?

*edit* what do u mean if???!!!? there will be a season 5!!!!!! ill see to it *evil laugh in dark corner making evil plans for world domination and getting s5 if all else fails*

I saw Atlantis in my opinion, it looks like it is going to be good.

Last Friday, here in the states on the Sci-fi channel, Stargate started its eighth season and during the premiere the Sci-fi channel showed two teasers of the mini during the commercial break. They also showed a mini teaser of Farscape during Atlantis last Friday during its premiere.

Henson said if the mini is successful then we will get more Farscape so of course we will make the mini successful! :aok:

Yeah I like Andromeda. It is not the best I have ever seen but I personally like it better than any other Friday show. Maybe not Atlantis I found it quite enjoyable. Yeah we can make it successful or give our best efforts if we keep on making e-mails to talk shows.

I miss First Wave too...Not as good as FS of course, but still fun.

Mine would be:

First Wave (just to warm up to FS) (if it was still running that is :D)
FS
Battlestar Galactica (I am willing to give this one a chance).

I am afraid I am rather bored both by Andromeda and Stargate in all its incarnations.

Don't care for Stargate but Andromeda seemed kinda interesting. I wish I had X-Files back though. I liked the replacement cast. Unfortunately others didn't feel that way when David Duchovny left and they went with him.

Doc Holiday

I forgot about First Wave. That was a cool show.

Doc Holiday

I loved X-Files. I did enjoy the replacement cast. I thought coming down on them and not the lackluster stroylines was unfair. I did not like the creative direction the X-Files were going. Both Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish did well dewspite what was given to them.

I think what happened with X-files happens with any show when it runs that long: character focus and consistency becomes harder and harder to maintain (and no matter how cool new characters might be, the people who want to watch for the old characters will be dissapointed). I think it simply ran for too long.

IMO, 5 years is about the cut-off date for shows I've liked. After that, it just becomes too disjointed (e.g. Buffy which I loved should have ended in S5 etc).

FS might have convinced me otherwise, but it didn't frelling get the chance :(

I could live with more Firefly too.

I might just rent Firefly to see what that was all about. How does a show nobody watch get a movie made about it and a show that has blood thirsty fans rabid for more get the axe like Farscape? What a strange place this is.

Doc Holiday
07-19-2004, 11:13 AM
onsidering the Firefly movie was greenlit by Universal not Fox who originally aired the show. The irony is that 20th Century Fox would make the Farscape movie. We could only wish.

I just like hearing the sound of that. Farscape: The Movie. All Frelled Up with No Place to Go.

Firefly does have quite a fierce fandom as well. Recently they launched the movie website and have gotten about 9500 forum members in about a month.

You should check it out though, it's a good series, pretty cheap nowadays to buy or to rent. I do like Farscape better, but it would be a too close to call if the series had been allowed to continue.

As for the mini, I hope it blows out BattleStar Galactica as the highest rated SCIFI miniseries ever. ;)

Doc Holiday

I think we all hope that. We keep on advertising for it and making things happen it may just do that.

I honestly find it hard to watch Andromeda...ussually I can sit through and semi-enjoy it..but ever since they started re runing the latest season I cant help but laugh at the dialouge.

Atlantis is awesome, and since this is the last year of SG-1 (Despite the fact the season 8 premiere broke all of the Sci-Fi channels records, RDA wont do a 9th season and without him there really is no show.)

Figuring that if we get a 5th season, it will probly come out 1/2 - 1 year later. By then Andromeda/SG-1 should be done with its HOPEFULLY final seasons.

So I would like to see...in no particular order.

Battlestar Galactica (I hear the mini was good)
Farscape (duh!)
Atlantis (Ive watched the premiere twice and still want to watch it again)

Doc Holiday
07-20-2004, 01:58 PM
Xevallah, an excellent choice indeed. I to find that Atlantis is quite enjoyable. I guess I am drawn to the fact they are away from Earth like Crichton was.

I'd like to see First Wave and Farscape running back-to-back. Or even better would be to bring back:

1. Farscape
2. First Wave
3. The Chronicle
4. The Invisible Man

All of those are great shows, in my opinion. Frelling Skiffy wouldn't know good shows they bit them on the eema. That's why we're stuck with dren like Tripping the Rift. (Is that sh*t still on, btw?)

Yeah it was originally intended to be on USA and then they tried putting it on Skiffy with no success.

For some reason I find people either love or hate the show soley on their oppinion of RDA. Anyways he doesnt want to do a 9th season because he wants to spend more time with his daughter.

First Wave ended like 4 years ago or something and besides it pretty much wrapped up with a closing IIRC...

Besides to me the only stand out thing was the main lead guy...I saw him do a guest spot on Andromeda and he stole the show right under Hercules.

faustus
07-22-2004, 09:55 PM
a small rodent could steal the show right under Hercules.

ok, Angel was just fine without cordelia, i just think her character was a bit mishandled. Regardless, they need to eliminated "that vision thing" for the plot to go on. The plot after all went from redemption to resistance.

Invisible man was great, I miss it.

Third wave was ok, some good characters, but bad acting.

Andromeda can be watchable, but its gotten bad. They completely desecrated Tier's character for no reson. It could have become such a good and cool and dramatci plot, and they turned him into an agent of the abyss. It was ackward and forced and poorly done. That new character they have is quite possibly one of the worst characters I've ever not had to watch on a show. In fact, I change the station when he is on.

I havent gotten to see Atlantis yet, but the villains seem like a bit of a rip off of the S3 villains from Earth Final Conflict.
