View Full Version : Songs that are annoying the hell out of you!

Topic says it all, songs on the radio or Fuse or MTV that just bug the crap out of you. I avoid the radio and MTV, but one place I can't get away from the crap music: The Gym! I spend about an hour and a half to two hours there 4 days a week (24 Hour Fitness) and they have the same exact crap everyday!

Anyways, songs currently making my urge to kill rise:

"This Love" by Maroon 5. Worst goddamn song ever! The vocalist has no talent, the lyrics are stupid, no skill with the instruments, and its everywhere!

"Roses" by Outkast. Why are they popular? This makes "Hey Yeah" seem like "Stairway to Heaven"

Random Pop Hip-Hop from some one hit wonder no talent hack.

3 Words:
Brittney xxxxing Spears!

I think I'll put my no skip CD player to use, mix up a killer CD with Slipknot, Mushroomhead, Otep, UnEarth, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Chimaria, Slayer, As I Lay Dying, Shadows Fall, Superjoint Ritual.

Because nothing kills your lifting mood more than Hilary Duff blasting over the speakers.

what's the excruciatingly annoying one from the Adam Sandler Movie?
the hip pop noise that really doesn't have anything to it - but is a jumble of techno noise with some guys blurting out the same vocals over and over again trying to sound like the BeeGees.
God all mighty I hate that one.
Now I have to kill you for making me think of it.

that God Forsaken Audible Dren straight from Hell that is forever burned into my brain.
Dear God Why?

I can't really get into their sound. Kind of a reggae blend of rock. A lot of their songs sound the same to me. Of course, that can be said about a lot of bands nowadays. :D

I just wish that Justin Timbercrap would stop singing. I am so sick of seeing him everywhere. That McDonald's song that he created is SOOOOOO annoying.

One song that drives me absolutely bonkers and I can't stand to listen to it is "Shout" by the Isley Brothers. Yes, it is an old song, but it's still annoying as hell!!!!

The new one by Outkast is just plain disturbing. Period.

Can't stand Timber(I've fallen and I can't get up)Lake...

Love Maroon 5... just do...

OH!! The most annoying song I can think of right now? The remake Jessica Simpson did of "Take My Breath Away"... She BUTCHERED it!!!! :grr: :g2f:

Didn't Twisted Sister have a "Shout" song as well?

actually, 311 has been around since 1990 (their first live concert ever was opening for fugazi), so they're definitely not a new band. they began with a lot of reggae influences and never stopped the sound. i like them a lot.

Did they play at Lollapalooza '94? I can't remember. :O

311 is not my favourite group, but their are other ones that are way worse than them. 311 certainly isn't an awful group per se, just that one song that I really don't like. :)

That's so cool to be able to have your first real concert be opening for Fugazi. I love Fugazi. Never seen them in concert though. I had to choose between Rancid and Fugazi, and Rancid won.

As for songs, I would definately agree with Maroon 5 sucking. It actually doesn't matter what song, because they all suck. Same thing with Dashboard Confessional. I hate them and their whiny wimpy crappy songs.

But what really makes me laugh is the fact that Ashlee Simpson's singing makes her sister's singing seem like that of Amy Lee or Christian Scabbia. God she is awful!

I heard this song once, just once over a decade ago and it was so bad, I remember it to this day. Some deep throated monotone, yet off key woman singing about "gold digging boys digging for hoochie". :hork:

Pina Colada song, but thumb up to Rupert Holmes for apologizing for it.

No Doubt (I think) made a remake of It's my Life. Hated it!

ETA: American Pie by Madonna

Yeah, Ozzfest is comming nowhere near Houston. 'Knot and Slayer are playing OffFest shows in Texas, but again, nowhere near Houston. But, we do get Tobey Keith, oh yay! :sing:

This is my plea to my boys Mushroomhead: "Come on an American tour, and play the Engine Room in H-Town again! Hell, bring Dope along again, they rocked too".

He was already suposed to have retired. Suposidly, he has lost a lot of the old magic, he has to read songs from a telepromter now. Seeing Black Sabath would be cool, but I want to go to see:

Slipknot
Otep
Lacuna Coil (Damn Christina is hot!)
Superjoint Ritual
UnEarth
BLS
God Forbid

Owlman

Mushroomhead is my favorite band of all time, they are a metal band from Ohio, that Slipknot is often accused of ripping off. They have similar sounds (except 'Shroomhead is more talented, and use two singers instead of one). They have a hell of a stage show, and wear uniforms, masks, and paint (like 'Knot as well).

Their melodic singer, Jeffery Nothing, sounds like a young Ozzy. You should check them out here (http://www.mushroomhead-music.com/main.html)

Dope is an industrial band, that is also great in concert, and they live up to their name big time. As soon as they came on, the room was filled with Mesculine and Reefer smoke. The ladies sure seemed to love them. Check them and the whole Toke Army here (http://www.dopearmy.com/index2.html)

Yea, that's her all right. That is the cover photo from the March 2004 GQ. I have it right next to my bed. Along with the March 2004 Vogue with her on the cover also. Of all the things in the world that I could collect, I've unintentionally ended up collecting every magazine that is sold in the US with Angelina on the cover. Because she, to me, is a Goddess. I started collecting back in '99. I have sooooooooo many magazines.

No problem. If you like hard rocker chicks, check out KidneyThieves, Nightwish and Otep

KidneyThieves: Industrial, and highly sexual and sleazy, kinda like My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult with a female singer! For the video for "Zerospace", singer Free Dominguez got naked and soapy in a bath tub. Their cover of "Crazy" makes a Willie Nelson song incredibly sexy.

Nightwish: Female opera singer with a metal band. Some very creepy songs.

Otep: Kind of the female equivalent of Slipknot, Otep's power rap can hang with Corey Taylor's, and she possibly captures more agression.

And Xev, with the Angelina thing, I almost bought the Cosmo with her on the cover, but I stopped because I'm a strait male. But it did make me think of an Undergrads Episode:

Nits: "Dude, is that a Cosmo?"

Rocko (like a cartoon verson of me): "Yeah, its a dollar cheaper than Jugs and it smells like chicks"

"The Reason" by Hoobastank

I liked it the first 10 times I heard it, but by the 100000000000000000000th time, it got a little old. "The Reason" is officially the "Bring Me to Life" of this year.

what's annoying me right now? overplaying of nickelback. can't stand them!
Well Nickelback is always overplayed. They take forever to come out with a decent song, then it gets played every hour.
And when I saw a commercial with Jessica Simpson trying to do Take My Breath Away. I started yelling at her that she had no right to ruin that song.

Can't forget "Milkshake"

For a guy that grew up around authentic Ghetto Rap, I fear for hip hop/ R&B's future.

As I mentioned in another thread, I despise this song! *retch*

Any of the maudlin songs.

Dear Mister Jesus
Some horrible song with the refrain "I've been to paradise, but I've never been to me".
I say Christmas Shoes is acceptable, because I only hear it around Xmas

And although I don't truely consider it to be maudlin, I am so sick of hearing "I hope you Dance"

Ugh I hate metal....If I wanted to destroy my eardrums with lots of harsh sounds, screaming, and lack of any form of coherent melody, I would stick em with a steak knife and carve them out.

That said the only songs that I hate atm are The Reason by Hoobastank. Overplayed WAY too much. The first week I heard it on the radio, I got it and listened to it about 100 times in 2 days. After that it wasnt the same...:P

Oh and that stupid song my Milenie/Marie/Whatever...shes singing then shes just talking in various parts of the song, then she sings about the guy giving her oral or some equivilent....ugh.

You just haven't found the right metal. It's not all unharmonious tripe.

Anything by The Village People. I still curse the day we had to do YMCA, Go West and You Can't Stop the Music at a Christmas concert. *shudders*.

What else? I don't really have particular songs I dislike, just artists. I'll echo what everyone else has said and state my strong, strong dislike of anything by Brittney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Simpson and her sister, Hillary Duff and her sister. I don't like Kylie Minogue, she's labelled 'the singing budgie' in our house.

I hate the remake those Duff girls have done to that song, 'our lips are sealed'. It makes me sick, the way they think they can remake a song and flog it to death. As for Jessica Simpson's remake of 'Take My Breath Away', please bust that CD!

Some of the video clips around are just grotesque atm, also. I don't know if anyone else has seen it, but seriously, the Brittney Spears one to whatever her newest song is (is it called Everytime?) is just crude. Making out she's slit her wrists in the bath? Do hormonal, irrational, reckless teenagers need to see someone (who for many for some insane reason is their role model) do this? I do not think so.

Also, songs that have been made into ads. Over here Kmart use a song called 'Counting the Beat' by the Swingers on their ads, now I can't handle the song because it reminds me of shopping there. But how's that for some good strategic marketing?!

There are plenty more, but I'm just enjoying the radio atm with good songs (my fave stuff, good Aussie rock) so can't think of the bad stuff.

guh, does anyone at all care about that anymore?! the only one who has had ANY success is Sporty (Melanie Chisolm) Spice and that's because (surprise!) she has talent. seriously, she does. i listened to a bit from her first album. it's pretty good.

Despite the fact that it has been under you av for a long time, I just now realized Sped was a Texan.

Austin has a lot of good bands comming out of it. Too bad Austin rockers UnLoco just broke up. Well, at least Ashlee Simpson still has a career!

Spedoinkel
07-24-2004, 09:44 PM
Please don't call me a Texan. If anything I'm a Yankee, though the north western states formed after the civil war.
Some good bands do come out of austin yes. Toadies, Burden Brothers...Um yeah kinda the same thing, but it's the radio is playing wierd mixes. Country, Hip/Hop, Pseudo-Punk, Alternative. It's hard to find a station that is constant.

I just remebered some other songs Ihate. When I worked for a Loews theatre in Arlington, my managers liked country. And often wouldn't let us change the channel. So I had to sit through a lot of crap like, "She Thinks My trackter's Sexy" a very disturbing song, and "She Changed Herself When She Couldn't Change Me" That song just pissed me off whenever I heard it. The pinicale of arrogant sexism.

Haha, that's great!!!

Another annoying trend that I've noticed alot lately, it haveing the vocals be so quiet you can't hear or understand them over the overly loud guitar.

Their song "The Anthum" was on Madden 2003, so by the time it came outa year later, I knew it by heart.
