How should you watch the mini?

Okay I'm not at all familiar with how the ratings system works. All I know is that a 1 share is one million households. Now, what I don't know is how that is determined. How I think it is determined is that the cable companies scan the sets of their subscribers and can determine what channel their customers are on. If I'm wrong tell me because if I am right, than no one should have any type of Skaper mini viewing party of any kind. The more people watching it at home on their tv sets the better right?

Neilsen ratings are determined by selected households. As far as I know those are the only accepted form of getting ratings. i know there has been talks of gathering information from cable boxes, but i think the right to privacy people have stomped on that one.

that being the case, unless you are a Neilsen household, it doesn't really matter how and where you watch it, unless you have a friend who is a Neilsen household.

i have heard of ratings being by TV and not by eyeball, which is insane, since there are a lot of programs people get together in groups to watch.

If you're really concerned about it, if you have friends over, have them put their cable boxes on Skiffy before coming over.

I think it would be a little interesting if they did that, because my hubby leaves the cable box on all the time while turning the TV off. I think we should put on some really obscure channel when we aren't watching TV. :D

I think the best thing we can do is after the Mini's over (too horrible to think about now), make sure you and all your friends let SciFi know what you thought of it, thank them for putting it on, and tell them you'd like to see more!

And if you have TiVo or DirectTV....leave it on those channels. Last I heard they kept track of things as well. In fact, if you have any friends who have TiVo....it would be good for them to set it to Farscape as well. :)

Nope. I sent pictures to Linda but didn't get a response. My basement flooded. A guy in a rescue boat knocked on my front door about 11:00pm asking if we wanted to evacuate. I was like "What the f***?". My friend has Tivo so I might ask her. Nice to hear from you again too by the way.

Sorry to hear you got wet...but glad you at least still have a house. We drove through Medford that night and barely made it out before things got bad.

So...gonna have a viewing party then? Someone posted a schedule on Kansas that's pretty cool. Coming up ((I think next week) you can watch one episode of Farscape a day and it will take you directly up to the Mini. :) That's kind of a cool concept.

No problem. Things are okay now. It was just the first couple of days because my brother was flying in that Tuesday from SC and my aunt's funeral was that Wednesday so last week was one of the hardest weeks of my life. Very tiring and stressfull.

I wish it helped if everyone in the house watched the mini on different TVs as there are four in this house. One for each of us. I watch Farscape with my dog scapers and some good snacks.
