We can get it for you, cheap! Okay, maybe it's the same price, but a percentage of each sale will be funnelled back into the campaign!

You might have heard that Ben Browder narrated an audiobook for Buzzymedia- the Interlopers by Alan Dean Foster. It's going to be an 8cd set, selling for $45.00, and ready for mailing in early October, and word has it that it's going to be very good. (which is not at all surprising, since Ben narrates it!)

Buzzymedia has an affiliate program, and the Farscape Webmaster's Associaton is signing up sites to link to Buzzymedia-sales that go through these sites have a small percentage of commissions going to the To Be Continued Fund (previously known as the Where's my Riot fund, before that the Beyond Hope fund). This is the general fund that Scapers can draw on for their Farscape promoting projects-it's where the large fixed expenses for Comic Con, Dragoncon, Gencon, Origins and Worldcon-booths, tables, rooms, etc-came from. This fund is still in need of funds for promoting the miniseries for the next three months.

The nice folks at Buzzymedia started presales a little early (they warned that that was a long time for some people-I told them we were good at waiting!) and are working with us to get commissions to the fund in time for them to be useful for our mission. They also donated an audiobook and gift certificate to the cause! So look for those to be auctioned off some time in the future.

I don't want to speak for angie, but I think I would be remiss in not mentioning that I know that they have been similarly generous to her TV Guide Ad project.

So if you're thinking of buying Ben's audiobook, please think about buying it through a link from an FWA site, or at Benbrowder.net, where the proceeds go to the TV Guide ad. Mentioning either the FWA or the TV guide ad will also get the commission to those funds, if you should buy directly from the site.

If you are a webmaster, you can contact me for the purpose of finding out how to sign up for the project. It might not make much difference in terms of the percentage we get for many different sites to be signed up-I'm not sure how it will effect sales. But as we've learned in the campaign, spreading info as widely as possible on the net is good for Ben and Buzzymedia. And Buzzymedia's been very good to us.

The links for the FWA sites are, so far:

www.forfarscape.com (the Farscape Webmaster's Association Site)

http://www.farnews.org/ (Tiriel's new news site)

http://www.webspawner.com/users/farscapefanfic/index.html (Jeffrabb's new fanfiction archive site.)

And I'm still waiting for my absentee landlord to put it up on Farscapeweb...and I'll put some more participating site urls up when I have 'em!

I'm very excited about this and very grateful to buzzymedia. It's a nice feeling to advertise Ben's audiobook and help the campaign at the same time. :)

OK guys we know that getting more money for the fund is of the good. Ben's voice for 8-9 hours is better. But did you know how fantastic the book itself is? Well I couldn't wait till the audio book came out so I bought and read the print book first. Interlopers was written by Alan Dean Foster who is very top draw SciFi-wise to begin with. The protaganist is an archeologist named Cody Westcott who has discovered the cause of most of the really stupid moves humanity has made .. from child abuse to racial "cleansing", road rage to network executives who cancel great shows to put on Mad Mad House. He is in danger, more danger than the average bear Yogi and the story takes you round the world to places of ancient power looking for help. I'm sure as h--- not going to tell you what happens, but it's both exciting and beautifully written. Wonder how Ben will do with the German accent of one of the main characters ? Bet he'll have nailed the Aboriginal accent of a nifty shaman that ends up helping him. See ? All those years down under must have finally paid off :)

Thanks, 3rdStar, for the great review..I think I might not read this myself til I get the audiobook, since it's one I haven't read yet.

Not sure about spending $45 bucks on one audio book, though. My friend is a member of an audio book club and can download it for free when it comes out... and I can send another $45 to the fund, instead of the $2.25 it would get from me buying it.

Guess I have a couple months to figure it out, though. ;)

If your interested BenBrowder-online did and interview with the producers of Interlopers. You can find it at :Interlopers interview (http://interlopers.benbrowder-online.com ) . Looks like Ben's personality surfaced during the recording

I like Alan Dean Foster's work, but I'm still a bit weirded out by 'Quozl'

3rdStar's summation sounds tempting. (And of course Ben's involvement.)

Hey, do we have a slight bunny fear here ?? Kind of Like Anya on BTVS ? Well, INTERLOPERS is unlike Quozl. That is one of Alan Dean Foster's gifts. He can do hard SciFi, Fantasy, Horror, Historical, Westerns and each time its a fresh point of view.

Watch out, Ben! I'll be at Burbank once again! With NEW questions, too. :D

Well, I just did my pre-order through forfarscape.com. Sounds like it'll be a good thing to have with me on my flight to Burbank in November... :D

You guys can add me to the list. Just pre-ordered mine. I read Interlopers when it first was published and wondered if it would ever be made into a movie. Never thought of Ben at the time because I had total Chriton blinders on but now that I think of it he would be perfect. Anybody else here read the novel ? Can we talk about it if we put spolier space in the posts ??

Good idea, Sebaceanbabe.

Thanks everyone!

Maybe someone could start a separate thread to discuss the book, in case there are people who don't want to be spoiled. (it doesn't help too much to put spoiler space in the thread when the thread's not marked 'spoiler' in the title.)

OK, where would such a thread go ? Would it be best under I HAVE A PLAN because the audio helps to raise money, or under TALKIN' Farscape, or OUT OF THEIR MINDS ?

If the new thread is for discussing the book (regardless of Ben's involvement in it) it ought to to in Out of Their Minds.

Thanks for the consideration. I don't want to be spoiled. ;)
