I was never exactly clear on how this went down. What happened to the money after LGaM? Did they pay Tocot with it? Or did he die before they got a chance to? In "Suns and Lovers" at the beginning, John's talking to that big, multi-armed bartender, and he tells him that they're rich. And they certainly vacation more in Season 3 ("Suns and Lovers", "Scratch n' Sniff"). And in SnS, John brings back 200,000 units of currency from the Transport Pod to "buy" Chiana.

They're pretty much set for life. At least money wise.

Just think, after Talyn leveled the shadow depository. They could have easily picked up anything they wanted out of the wreckage, but as it was all they had was that one vault that Aeryn, D'Argo, John and Bakesh took refuge in when the place went down.

Afterward, Rygel was sitting on top of a crate in the middle of a room full of valuable stuff.

I don't think they are filthy rich, it's just that they get chased away or the person they are buying from dies before they can pay. I'm sure merchants love them, but they may only be moderatly wealthy.

Maybe they do some cargo shipping on the side. They have the space.

I think they are pretty well off. And I believe (but have no proof to back me up) that since Grunchlik and Diagonsan both bought it fairly quickly, they had no time to collect the payment so the Moyans still have all that money.

That's what I think as well. Never had to make payment so they are good to go.

In Season 4, they have to pay a several $million extorion, and Crichton carries it down in one bag, and they had barrels and barrels of money.

I always thought an interesting sub-plot would be some kind of Sebacean Mafia out to get their money back from the Moyans after they stole it from the Depository.

I think they're pretty much set monetarily, too. I've oftentimes wondered about this myself but have come to the conclusion that from the end of LGAM on, they had a good deal of funds backing them up. I think it's nice how the first two years depict them as moneygrubbing and having next to nothing, then after that, money's the least of a growing number of concerns, and they're pretty good with it, they don't have to worry about it. I can't imagine them having to push crackers together while facing off the Scarrans... vwaoch.
