admin note: again folks...please DO NOT post spoilers in thread titles. people that intentionally do not go into this forum can still see the thread titles. thank you.
I was just wonder what is the probobility that Sun jr. will be born in the miniseries. I'm getting a kitten and am toying with the idea of naming it after the baby, but if there is no name given, I'll be out of luck.

I think we'll find out at the end of the end. Just my opinion though. That's probably how they will leave it open for spin offs, season 5, a movie etc. Here's hoping!

I think they'll have her give birth in the miniseries -- she's been pregnant (well, first in stasis and then pregnantpregnant) for so long now that I think they'll want to finish playing that out.

i can't se them dragging that out any longer either. They'll use the baby for future plots.

It's going to be twins that will be raised by a wolf-like alien (like Rumulous and Remus) until the PK Wars are over and they can be returned to J/A. :roflmao:

Hi
I am new and I hope this question is not too crude or off topic but on another baby thread they were talking about Aeryn saying the baby was John's in the Series Finale. Someone said that it could be John's before he was twinned. Did they do "the deed" before John was twinned. I seemed to think that on Talyn with T-John was the first? What did I miss?

Cats. Naming them is difficult. It took a week to name my last cat. It was T.S. Eliot who said that they have their own secret name known only to themselves. http://www.americanpoems.com/poets/tseliot/5536
Spoiler
From Rockne's short story 'Horizons,' in the May 2003 issue of Farscape magazine, we learn that John and Aeryn named their first son with the initials J.T.

In "A Human Reaction" John and Aeryn did do "the deed", but the morning after scene was cut from American broadcasts. If you have the DVD's the scene is in its proper place.

Yep. Season One. If you can get your hands on a copy of Season One on DVD there are lots of important little scenes that were cut out of each episode. An important one in Durka Returns, and that REALLY important one in A Human Reaction.

In A Human Reaction (mid season 1) John and Aeryn were alone and on the run. We have confirmation that they had sexual relations by the dialog in that ep the next morning and again in Mind the Baby, 1st ep of season 2. We don't actually see them...rather it begins with a soft, gentle, tentative kiss and ends with John in bed, naked from the waist up, Aeryn dressed in men's clothing and sitting on a chair beside the bed. It's one of the best of Farscape. A must see

Spoiler
From Rockne's short story 'Horizons,' in the May 2003 issue of Farscape magazine, we learn that John and Aeryn named their first son with the initials J.T.
Continued spoilers:
That is of course, if you take "Horizons" to be the word of God. I mean, it could just be fanfic by one of the writers, you know?
Rockne said that "Horizons" wasn't meant to be show canon, it was just written from his personal reaction to the cancellation. He didn't mean it to be taken as definitive.

Well, I am on fire to get the first season now. I have the second and most of the fourth but I see I will have to get the first. Thanks for the answers and the welcomes. Nice to meet people who love Farscape. By the way, where can you read "Horizons" by Rockne?

It was only in the original Official Farscape magazine (#12, May 2003) that was stopped cold turkey by the manufacture in the UK when the show was canceled that black September 2 years ago. I don't think they have any issues left, but you can check. Swine company. Titan Magazines, 1-877-363-1310. Last I heard, though, I thought they were sold out.
The mag is/was of extreme quality, with LOTS of pics and outstanding interviews. The paper was thick and the pages large. If anyone wants a zip file of Rock's fic......PM me.

I could have sworn I read something that it was his way of giving us an ending, but I've just looked and it only says that it's fiction from the shows creator.
Outside of the name and Rygel's part, there is nothing else that could conflict with canon.

That would be... Jack Tayln Sun-Crichton as the father's name is typically the last one.

In our culture yes.
But Aeryn is Sebacean and typically Sebaceans take the mothers last name.

Precisely, and as John is living in the UT, he'd go with Aeryn's upbringing. He'd just have to add his last name to that of the infant. Cause any child of the nefarious John Crichton would simply have to carry ole wild dad's name.
grinner
08-01-2004, 05:03 PM
no, John would be too 'Human' to allow his name to be first... look at the amounts of little fights that occur in our society between husbands and wives over last names. I would say that John's child would HAVE to have his name. As that is his "Father's" name as well.

John loves Aeryn too much...She'd want the lad named after John's dad, being as important as Jack was to John. And being as her father Talyn was the only one of her family that didn't turn on her, she'd want her babe to have her dad's name too...
So...Jack Talyn Crichton-Sun is it :D

nah... he is a red-blooded American Male... his name would most definitally be last. Sun-Crichton :nana:

I just went through "Horizons" and though it's status as canon is kinda ambiguous, it was nevertheless, written by Rockne. He refers to Crichton's family as "The Crichtons". So, Jack Talyn (Sun) Crichton it is :), though Rockne refers to Aeryn as Aeryn Sun. Guess we'll have to wait till that scene in the mini where John attempts to refer to Aeryn as Mrs. Crichton ;)

08-01-2004, 09:56 PM
Ooohhh..you are pulling out the BIG guns to bolster your argument. It IS true that Rockne is writing the mini...so If that's the way he initially wrote the dogma of the legacy of John, then...sigh...you are likely right....
At least I've still got Jack Talyn Crichton! :D

Rock said at ComicCon, in answer to a question, that the short story was the way he always saw the "story" ending but isn't canon. it just gave him an opportunity to write it/explore it/can't remember his exact words.

:lol Dude. If John refers to Aeryn as Mrs. Crichton, I can bet you it'll only be the once and it'll be in a joking manner. There are so many more important things for them to worry and argue about, in the grand scheme of their places in the universe and the story arc of the mini.
Of course, I've been writing Aeryn all day, so maybe that has colored my perspective just a little bit. ;)

That would be a classic 'John' scene... calling her Mrs. Crichton... Just the look on her face and what she would say... yeah, I hope it is in there at least once.

08-02-2004, 09:59 AM
Well... if it's not... I know a few fan fic writers who would be more than happy to let us share that scene with them. *wink wink, nudge nudge* :D
Mike0812
08-02-2004, 11:21 AM
Yeah :lol, that's a scene I would definetly like to see. I DID say he would attempt to call her Mrs. Crichton, I didn't say he would be successful or that Aeryn would tolerate that :D. *Flashes back to that scene in TS, where she gives him that typically Aeryn look* :D
wg, I used Horizon as an example of how Rockne sees them or their family in the future. So, I figure if he uses "The Crichtons" in his fic, chances are that's how he might name their children onscreen. I could be wrong though :dunno:...

Sure looked like she was in labor to me, also. And from that painfully intense grimace on her face, it looks like she's caught by surprise at how much labor hurts. LOL. At any rate, I think it's safe to assume that Baby Crichton is going to be born near the end. :D

Looks like J&A might be tying the knot. John broadcasts for all to hear that they're getting married in the trailer. So if they do manage to pull of this wedding without a hitch, I don't think what name she chooses to use will be mentioned. Personally, I think Aeryn will prefer Sun-Crichton simply because I think she'd want to take that little bit of earth culture/tradition. I don't think John will care so long as he's married to Aeryn. JMHO. :D

I really hope Aeryn doesn't change her last name, it would be to weird, IMO, since it's not in her culture, nor in the UT, besides, as people here and in other threads said before, taking the husband last name is NOT an earth tradition, only some countries do that, in mine we don't(and maybe for the same reason) I can't fathom (wooo, me using big words, I must be getting better at english! hehe) why Aeryn would take his last name since she wasn't bred like that and is not hers (period!); and as for the baby, I think the same, that he/she would have Sun last name, at least I hope so, for me it would be most genuine in the sense that it proves they are not from earth, nor have or rules either (If we are talking about twins I'd vote for Jack and Xhalax Sun!!!)
