How are people watching this? I tried watching it in Quicktime, but it won't work. I tried removing the .torent as well and it still doesn't work. I've also tried both ways described above in Windows Media Player. I totally want to be spoiled!

Janey_13, if the download is completed it should be a .mov file not .torrent then you watch in in Quicktime. It only shows .torrent while downloading!

You need to get a BT client first, if you don't already have one. This FAQ (http://dessent.net/btfaq/) should help if you've never used BT (hey, I hadn't until a couple of hours ago).
Just uploaded it to my server, you can download it from there:

I converted it to a ~6MB .avi clip (used XviD to encode, so you'll need to make sure you have an XviD codec for playback). PM me and I'll shoot you the link.

Spoiler........
The old humor is right up front, and the tension, and the chemistry:
'bad guys?'
'yes and no. they helped us put you back together.'
what is XviD anyway.. this spoiler slut likes spoilersxVid is an implementation of the MPEG-4 video compression codec. xVid is an open source MPEG-4 codec. xVid is so highly compressed, a typical 4Gb DVD movie can be compressed far enough (with a loss of quality of course) to fiit onto a single CD (around 700Mb).
It's very good for compressing movies to make them smaller, plays back really well, but has some slight issues with seeking. If you plan to fast forward and rewind through a video, use DivX;-) instead (yes, with the little smiley face - DivX without is a commercial program).
The latest xVid binary codec for windows (also plays DivX) http://koepi.roeder.goe.net/xvid.shtml

If the file download has completed and the file ending says .mov it should play in Quicktime. If it still doesn't work you might want to try download the latest version, I have 6.1 and it works fine. There's a free player you can download here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
If that still doesn't work you might want to try AyuRocks suggestion of downloading the quicktime alternative from videohelp.com. If that doesn't work either maybe someone could try convert it for you, unfortunately I don't have enough webspace to do it at the moment.

It's slow on both the BT networks and the browser d/l, so either the seeds have expired or there's a LOT of activity on both protocols. I can only urge people to be patient.
I've got either a 7.5 hour wait or a 6 hour wait - but it's all good - I've got other stuff to accomplish today...
I have found a pretty fast connection to it through Shareaza - a p2p file sharing client. It connects to several hubs (G1 - BearShare, G2 - Shareza, Bit Torrent, eDonkey) and can download audio, video, programs, pictures, etc. Right now it's found 20 sources and my download time has shown as short as 35 minutes. Granted I have cable internet at 4 Mps, so YMMV, but some of the sources can connect at up to 248 Kbs. It downloades bits and pieces from multiple sources at the same time and assembles them all the end. Faster that way. Check out shareaza.com if you are interested.
Right now I am downloading from 4 sources at once and averaging between 50 and 100 Kbs - it says about 1 1/2.

I'm on a T1, and it just took about 50 minutes to d/l (just finished about 5 min ago)- never got above ~10Kb/sec- it's slow.
I had the same trouble that others had with QT, but it works great now that I re-installed the latest version...
and the wait was worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*lol* no problem, I'm no expert either but I've downloaded from bittorrent a few times. First of all the file should be a .mov file so if it still says .torrent then either something went wrong or the file isn't completely downloaded yet. That's assuming you downloaded the bittorrent application first? What size is the file? Maybe you could try double-clicking on it and see if it restarts, that continues the download if it's not complete. Mine says 48,2 MB.
OK, I installed the newest version of Quicktime, and it worked.
Woooohoooo! That's so cool! But, but..but how am I going to be able to last till October?

My download of the clip was really small - 4 KB... So something went wrong. I deleted it. Then, I tried to re-download it but now when I click on the torrent link at the beginning of the thread my Media player pops up and says it can't play the "farscapemini clip" but when I go to my Media player it is not there and when I search my computer (using "Search" and look for *.mov) nothing shows up... So, I really screwed something up....

It's not the trailer for the mini-series. It's a 45 or so second clip from the mini-series, apparently just after J&A get put back together. I would like to know who got ahold of it and if it's legal. It's frelling intense!

I got to work on the first try and took 20 minutes for the download
This is what I did
Download the torrent file
Then I downloaded the Bit torrent software. Once thats setup, I found find the torrent file I first downloaded using the Bit torrent software, This will start the real download of the file. The dowload file will have a differnet name. Mine was called N1sc11-2.mov ONce thats done, close the Bit torrent software and assuming you have Quicktime on your computer, find the new downloaded and click on it. Thats it, you should be up and running

If any one is still having trouble figuring out how to download “The Clip” …
I think I might have finally figured out how to download it. I’ve never heard of Torrent and the last peer-to-per file sharing I did was with the original Napster so it took me the better part of yesterday afternoon to figure this out. Whoever put up the thread about downloading the BitTorrent software really gave me the key to figuring it out. Thank you! Anyway, here are (I “think”) the step-by-step procedures I did:
1. It might be easier to open up two browser windows for this procedure and it takes a REALLY long time to download. So, if you don’t have a high-speed connection at home but you do at work, use the one at work if you can - don’t get in trouble with your boss though. :)
2. In one browser window go to http://www.TorrentBox.com and register as a client/member. Click on the “Sign-Up” icon. It’s free and you don’t really have to enter your real name, etc. (I didn’t). However, you will need to enter in a real email address because your “account” (i.e. your ability to download) won’t become active until you “…confirm your user registration.” You have to do this via email. So if you’re at work you may want to use your hotmail/yahoo type email address instead of your official business email. Once you’ve received the email and confirmed your user registration …
3. Go to http://bittornado.com/download.html and download the BitTornado-0.3.7-w32.install.exe program. For those of us in the United States, I don’t know if it will really matter for you but I had to use the Mirror #2 (USA) link [when I tried using the Mirror #1 (USA) link my company’s IT firewall wouldn’t allow it]. Pick a good place to download it to so you can easily find it once it’s done (like in your programs folder or on your desktop - you can always move/delete it later). Once BitTornado has downloaded …
4. Install it. Install BitTornado. Follow the prompts, jump through the hoops, pledge allegiance and agree to whatever, etc. After it’s done it will create a BitTornado folder under your program folder on your ‘C’ drive (unless you direct it to be placed somewhere else during the installation) and a short cut key.
5. Go back to http://www.TorrentBox.com and login. Click the search icon. Type in, Farscape Mini, for “(all types)” and click the Search button. The file (http://torrentbox.com/download.php/...ini.MOV.torrent) with the clip should be listed. If the software has been installed properly you can now download the clip by clicking on it under the "DL" colunm. Once it’s downloaded it should “turn into” N1SC11-2.MOV (or something similar). The BitTornado peer-to-peer upload/download window will open and start transferring the file. It gives details on the transfer rate, estimated time elapsed/remaining, etc. Be patient. I did this at work because I have Stone Age dial up and a Pentium 1 processor at home (I know, I know. I need to upgrade). It took approximately 45-50 minutes for the clip to transfer/download with a high-speed connection. (I tried it again at home and the estimated transfer was 4 plus hours.)
When it was about 75% transferred an Internet Explorer Window opened up with the address of http://gallery.kaalihakkuri.com/farscape/fmd/N1SC11-2.MOV and started playing the partially downloaded clip. WOOOOOHOOOO!! Halleluiah, Amen, Amet, Praise the Goddess and all of that. :D When the transfer was about 80% complete it was time for me to get off work but there was no way I was going to close everything down when I was this close. Once it was finally finished I had to search my hard drive to find out where the N1SC11-2.MOV clip had been saved but this was because I didn’t pay attention earlier as to where it was going to be saved. So be sure to remember/know where you’ve instructed the clip to be saved.
6. If you open QuickTime and then open the file from there it should play in the QuickTime window. For some, if you double click on the file it opens up in a browser window with the http://gallery.kaalihakkuri.com/farscape/fmd/N1SC11-2.MOV address and plays there.
An additional viewing tip: if your at home (or you may be able to do this at work) and your computer has TV OUT capabilities or a TVator/Replay device “send” the clip out to your TV/VCR/DVD and you can watch it on your regular television or big screen TV.
Is this 40 second snippet of film from the mini worth all this hassle? In my humble Scaper opinion, “HELL YEAH!”
I hope my instructions will help all of you guys who want to see it and haven't been able to. :)
About the clip itself: from the information across the top and the running counter at the bottom, it looks to me to be part of the “rushes” the musical composer (in this case Guy Gross) uses while scoring the music. So someone connected with that part of the post-production may be the “source” of this clip getting out. That’s just an educated guess on my part though. Either way, ENJOY!

A word of warning. I have not downloaded the clip and don't intend to but when I went to the site to take a look, it gave me a nice trojan Horse virus which fortunately my wunnerful software detected before it spread. BE CAREFUL!

Did anyone else recognize the guy that says last warning? It's the actor that played Sikozu's lover from A Prefect Murder. Either they are recycling, or the others went back to that planet to enlist help.
So very true that the clip sends the Farscape vibes a racing! Wow. I can feel the jitters that always accompany new Farscape. Ben and Claudie NAILED the scene. Gigi was awesome as well...They really fell back into character. HOW are we going to wait and not go insane???

I thought I had heard that voice before. I just couldn't place where it was.

Has it occurred to anyone that this clip might be the first viral marketing plan? From Henson?
We've been trying to come up with viral marketing ideas for several weeks now, and....
That's all I'm saying.
BTW, I read the "illustrated" transcript of this clip yesterday, and couldn't WAIT to see it from my own computer. I'm 40% complete now. ;)

Oooooooo, that clip is SOOOO much better live than in transcripts and screen caps! :joy:
I just watched it three time, with the volume turned up higer each time! :D
Did you notice that, although there is music, the ADR wasn't done? Some of the lines were quite soft and sounded unfinished. I heard that they were doing ADR until April or May!
REALLY can't wait to see the mini now!!! (As if I wasn't excited before!) ;)

I LOVE hearing and seeing the unfinished footage. I'm DYING to see a behind the mini footage. I hope and pray there is some $$$$ to put together something for Burbank...Frell...I've done it at work...I'd be delighted to put something together in my spare time :D Frelling shame it'll never happen. :(

Am I right in thinking that this clip has Time code on?
If so then it is a copy from the Lightworks or Avid master and is almost certainly not sanctioned by Henson unless some very crafty double think is going on.Which IS possible of course.
It would be relatively easy for a production member to sneak out a transfer of a section.

Everyone should see this clip. It just would brighten a Scaper's day. My one question is where was Stark, Rygel, and Noranti. You would have thought they would be there.

Well from the clip we can't really tell if they are with freind or fo. If you will notice none of moya's crew has weapons. At least not that I have been able to see. Take a look. Only John and Aeryn have weapons and remember they were just put back together.

Also... are spoiler tags in this thread necessary anymore?
Well
just in case....
Also, when John asked "Bad guys?" D'Argo said "Yes and no," so I'm thinking, in spite of them reconstituting J and A, he still doesn't trust them.
And I love how they had John and Aeryn surrounded by guns before our intrepid couple were fully revived, too. Reputation? ;)
I converted it to a ~6MB .avi clip (used XviD to encode, so you'll need to make sure you have an XviD codec for playback). PM me and I'll shoot you the link.
You can download those chasa's clips from my server too:

Thanks to chasa for letting me do that :)
And the original Quicktime: http://gallery.kaalihakkuri.com/far...md/N1SC11-2.MOV
BTW, it has been downloaded 1646 times, it makes allmost 80 GigaBytes of transferred data :D

Thanks for that info! I was wondering about it since the first time it was posted.
Can you keep us up to date regarding that?
(Wish my friends could download, but they still have dial-up and NO patience for long downloads.)
Thanks for adding those links, too. Makes things easier for a lot of people here, too.
Can someone update the first message in this thread with a note that says they can download alternative formats if the first one doesn't work? There are people here with little patience, too. ;)

Since I'm logged in and everything, I will post about the clip. It's so freaking awesome. It's good to know that they have the Farscape "feel" down pat. Just watching that short little clip brought back so many good memories of the show.

Since we've heard that our dear, amphibious Dominar dove into the water for some pieces, what are the chances he would have passed by a boat with a diamond ring in it? :ewink:
