Yeah, I'm back. I can't really tell everyone what I've gone through right now but suffice to say it's been trying and I'll try and touch bases with everyone as soon as possible. To make some odd yet painfully heart-wrenching details of a long story short, my grandmother was hospitalized for a heart attack and she just came back today, I was promoted at work and present for a robbery on the same day, mom was moving and I had to help her, my cat died, and least important of all, I had to get another computer. I miss my cat very dearly, I hope my grandmother does all right, and whatnot... but I've had a less than Scaperful couple of weeks... I'm really sorry that I didn't explain what was going on with a quick post sooner but, well, I haven't really had any time whatsoever. Here I am, though, for what it's worth. I missed you all.

I noticed you missing Jeff, but I just hoped you were busy spending time with your mom. I'm so sorry you've been going through this rough patch in your life. I certainly can understand not wanting to make a public issue of personal stuff just as you are in the middle trying to get a grip on it all. Everyone needs a little private time to deal with things their own way. As a cat lover, I'm so sorry to hear you've lost your cat. They are such wonderful understanding companions. But I'm glad that your grandmother is home safe, I know how much you care about her. And I'm also glad to know that you and your co-workers are ok too. I would have been terrified in your position.
We're here if you need us, and if you don't too.

Thanks, everyone. It means a great deal to me to know that I'm back, and even moreso, to know that everyone missed me and is welcoming me with such open arms after I've been through some pretty bad times lately. to everyone, too!

Oh, Jeff! That is a really awful string of events!
I hope your grandmother gets better. I've never experienced a love one having a health problem like that, not much more that I know to say. I really hope everything is all right.
On the other hand, I know what it's like to lose a pet, a cat at that. She died about 6 months ago, I had her for 10 years, and it sounds weird but I miss her everyday, and I think about her and I really want to sob. I'm sorry that you have to go through losing a pet as well, it's not fun.
Welcome back, and I hope things go better for ya.

Jeff,
I don't know you that well, but from the posts I've read of yours...you really amaze me. I don't know what your situation is, but I have gathered that you are young and living on your own. Your posts are so incredibly mature, and you always have such a great attitude towards life.
I'm very sorry your Grandma had a heart attack. It's really hard watching people you love age. I'm glad that she's home now, and I'll be thinking good thoughts for her.
I'm also very sorry about your cat. Pets are family to me...and one of the saddest things about having them in our lives is that they don't live nearly as long as we'd like them too. If you are half as nice in life as you are in your posts, your cat must have had a terrific life with a lot of love. It will still hurt, but finding a way to honor her memory can help you grieve. I know it sounds cliche now, but someday you really will be able to smile about all those memories you had with your buddy.

I'm sorry to hear about all of your troubles Jeff! Things will get better soon. Just look on the brighter side - your Grandma is ok, you've (hopefully) been through the worst thing that will happen to you at work, your Mom is moved, you obviously have a new computer, and well, there isn't really a bright side to your lost kitty. But, I'm sure he/she had a wonderful life with you and is in a better place now. For what it is worth, I'm glad you're back :)

AyuRocks, Judith_Shakespeare, it helps to know there are others that understand the feeling of losing a pet... of course, there are lots of others in this world outside've myself that do, that goes without saying, but... it's nice to hear from a couple of those others, that've felt the same way. I really miss him (Scrappy) and I hope that, wherever we go -- wherever cats go -- he's enjoying himself with the same general cheerfulness he always had in life.
And eta_carinae, thanks for being positive! faustus, man, I missed you, dude. Still eating pizza ice cream? Hahaha. And of course to everyone else I once again say thank you for your uber-kind words.

Welcome back Jeff, we really have missed you! ;)
I'm sorry to hear about your Granmother but it sounds like she'll be fine now that she's home. I'll keep both of you in my prayers. Congratulations on your promotion! :D I'm so sorry about your terrible ordeal but glad that you are safe!
My heart is so sad for you at losing your best friend Scrappy. :cry2: I'm sure it makes you miss him even more while you're going through this bad time in your young life. My dog Ripley is as important to me as any other member of the family so I understand your feeling of loss. I'm sure he's in Kitty Heaven and having a ball. Happy memories of Scrappy will help you through the sad times. :hug2:
Sending lots of good vibes and Scaper love your way! :kotc: It's so good to have you back! :D
