So, I was driving on the highway today, going about 75mph, enjoying the weather. I had the sun roof, both passenger and drivers side windows and the rear window vents open. Just out for a drive, when all of a sudden, the hood pops open and shatters the window. whoops. :lol So, I manage to not crash the car and get it over to the side of the road. I push the hood down, and notice that the hood now has a nice concave shape to it... :lol. I get back into the car and proceed to drive the 20 miles back to my house. Every bump causes a shower of glass to sprinkle down upon me. Oh joy. :D It is a real good thing that I have a couple spare cars... and one that I am parting out... so all I need to do is take out the shattered and install one of the ones off of another car. And my dad calls me crazy to have multiple cars... spares I tell ya, that's what they are. :D

broken latch... as much as I can tell.

Hell, if I crashed, that wouldn't be the first time... or the last time. Too bad the glass didn't shower down on me when the hood hit... as I could always use another piece of windshield glass in my skull. :lol

Spares are always important... and AS... I have probably 9 sets of spares in my garage. :D

Damn g-man, way to function under pressure. I probably would have crapped my pants and hit a light pole. Good job bro!

Luckily you were able to pull over without hitting anything.

That would have scared the hell outta me!

All it takes is for you to realize what is occuring around you. I am not saying that I am a better driver than anyone else... I just try to be aware of everything around me. I had been playing around on dirt roads earlier and was sliding the car around corners and having one hell of a good time... maybe that helped. It really wasn't that big of a deal. I just depressed the clutch and downshifted while turning on the right turn signal and making sure nothing was in front of me. The bang was more shocking than getting off of the road.

I hate when that happens, except in my case, I forgot to install the latch.

 Glad you're okay.... You've got a warped sense of humour, though! I don't think I could be laughing.... I'd be too busy needing a clean pair of underwear!!!

having dirty underwear is funny, how they got dirty is sometimes funnier.

having dirty underwear is only funny when the person with dirty underwear is not usually dirty to begin with. ugh college horror stories.

one of my friends had a roomate that was just...ugggh, gross. she'd be out all day, all sweaty, and go play softball, then come into the room and stay there all night without changing clothes or taking a shower. she'd sleep in the clothes she wore that day, and just get up for class....still wearing the same clothes! that's one of the epitomes of grossness.

Man, glad you're okay grinner :)! I've had my own misadventures with my car. Just recently, I found out that about 10 bumblebees decided to rent out my driver's side mirror :eh:. To make matters worse, they decided to make their presence known while I was driving and I had my windows down. Fortunately, I wasn't on the highway and there was noone else around me AND I managed to avoid getting stung...barely :grr:. Needless to say, they were forcefully and ruthlessly evicted as I do not rent out my side windows for free...

so you're saying you would've left the bees stay there if they started to pay rent?

It's the principle AS, the principle! They could've at least inquired ya know, that woudn't been the polite thing ;) :D. In any case, it needs to be spruced up before I can consider renting it out. :) Wouldn't want rental control after my ass! :D
