so, you have a thought, a new project you think would be really cool. Wondering how to implement it?? Well, there's no right or wrong answers generally, but here's just a few hints on how to do that.
Post your idea to the I Have A Plan/Campaign Strategizing Forum. People in the community will help you kick around your idea and refine it. If it's something that's been done in the past, somebody will tell you. If there's legal issues, somebody will pop up and tell you. If you want extra help and support with it, that's one place to post. Have questions about contacts, etc?? There are lots of people that have run projects before, including the staff around here. They're usually very open to answering questions and offering feedback. A few of the people that are open to offering help include: Jul, LilOrion, divinedaydreams, Dominar of Action, harveywhispers. Feel free to drop them a pm through the message board.
If you want to be added onto this list, let me know and I'll add you in.
Publicize your project. Wanna advertise your idea further?? If you ask, you can get your idea for a campaign project posted to the front page of the website. You can post it yourself, if you ask for access to the front page, or one of the staff will be more than willing to post it for you. Just drop us a pm. You can find out who we are by clicking on the forum leaders button at the bottom of the index page. Want to put information on your project through the SaveFarscapeAnnouncements Yahoo Group?? We can help you with that as well. Want to spread the word about your project more? Feel free to post your project at other websites as well, including Kansas and FarNews. Do you want help writing up something for the first page?? Feel free to ask for help in your thread or ask one of the staff members if they'd be willing to proof it before it gets posted.
Need funds to run the project? Looking for grants to help get your project off the ground?? need some help figuring out how to fundraise?? If you have general questions, I'm more than happy to answer questions on how to get your project funded via fundraising, including how to fundraise using paypal.
The FWA (Farscape Webmaster's Association) (http://www.forfarscape.com) runs the To Be Continued fund and they offer grants to projects and can walk you through the proposal and appropriations process if you need help as well.
Ultimately, the success of the project you are proposing depends on the support of Scapers in the community. We're willing to help you out in spreading the word to them. Just ask. :D
