My PC prompts me to update my McAfee Security software daily and when i try to do it it installs and then it says patch error. When i try to go to the help website the computer blocks me from doing so.
My software still is allowed to be updated until January 2005. Any suggestions?

Don't worry, I bought MC 8 a few months ago, got it registered, and it still wants me to get the latest update. (ie: MC8)

Contact the site thru email, if you have available to you, if not, I'll go retrieve one, or call them via 1-800 number. I don't use mcafee, cause it costs money, and I'd rather spend my cash on frivolous things like Cheese and Chipotle Burritos. (they really should pay me)
Seriously, I've never used Mcafee for more than a minute. I hear they are a good company, and they get very high marks so I'd try to contact them and have them fix your issue.

If your firewall has the option, you might try adding the McAffee website to your "trusted sites" list.
I had similar problems with Norton... and only recently found out that Norton Anti-Virus has a bug in it. Uninstalled N/A-V and everything is beautiful. I'm using a freebie righ now.. probably the same one as Third EYe.

What browser are you running? I found it doens't interact well with Mozilla. They supposedly have a Netscape patch, but I couldn't get that to install. I ended up going through IE. If you are using IE, I would contact them and ask.

I will go that route when this expires. I haven't been able to get through to their technition as the firewall gets blocking me. I'm supposed to get free updates and I can't get it to download completely. I saw the 1-800 number but it says it charges a pretty hefty fee not worth the cost of the software. I think it was 39.95 for help. I've tried emailing them but my email keeps getting kicked back as their box is full. LOL.

If you don't get the updates on a regular basis, you are NOT protected. As new viruses and worms come out, you will be vulnerable to them.

scaperbuddy, if all that is true, and I do not doubt you, then you have been ripped off and I personally will not ever recomend thier product to anyone. In fact I'm gonna contact them myself and ask if i purchase their product and I have mozilla and can't access thier website will I have to pay to call thier 800 number in order to get support.
I don't like this crap. Then they wonder why individuals crack thier software.

So far I've established that yes, you will have to pay 2.95 a minute in order to speak with a mcfee representative regarding technical support for your already paid for product. That's like getting a hooker and then having to call a phone sex line to get her to function.
Garbage
There is another option, and I'm going to try it out now, it involves live chat.
I'm using mozilla

I didn't actually chat with anyone because I don't own the product, I could just tell them where to go, but I got a migraine today, so i've told enough people that already.
using mozilla I had no problem getting thru the site, so you may need to uninstall the software and try the following link, I hope it works.
