Student Charged With Clogging Toilet

PORT OF SWEET GRASS, Mont. - Jesse Huffman insists he didn't do it on purpose, but the toilet he left plugged after "nature called" at this border crossing in north-central Montana has him facing criminal charges.

Toole County authorities charged the 19-year-old college student from Great Falls with criminal mischief after a border agent accused him of intentionally clogging the toilet.

Huffman said the clogged piping was completely unintentional, the result of an urgent, but natural bodily function.

"I've never been arrested before or anything like that, and I get arrested for taking a dump," said Huffman, a student at Montana State University in Bozeman.

Huffman was returning to Montana from a trip to Lethbridge, Alberta with four friends Saturday. Port authorities stopped their car for what was apparently a random search. The car's 19-year-old driver was cited for illegally possessing alcohol.

Huffman said he asked to use the bathroom while waiting for the driver.

A short time later, a port inspector discovered the toilet was clogged and threatened charges, Huffman said.

Cory Grayson, one of Huffman's friends, said he couldn't believe it when border agents first threatened charges.

"I didn't think they were serious at first, I was just laughing so hard," he said.

Port Director Larry Overcast said he could not comment on the case.

Huffman said he has hired an attorney and intends to fight the charge.

I really don't know what to say here. How do they know it was intentional?? Did someone retrieve the clogging "object"? If it was a turd, then we know the guy is innocent. If it was a, say roll of toilet paper, or paper towels or something, then the guy is guilty. Anyone want to volunteer to go to Montana and sort this out??

I guess since they can't arrest speeders on the highway, they have to do stuff like this.

Thats just wrong. :g2f: If that was a major problem then he should have been handed a plunger and told to clean it up. Sheesh.

and do away with all of that wonderful paper work never mind taking away precious well needed revenue that comes from the fines.
to take away so many jobs and well needed money from the Great State of Montana, in order to let off what is clearly a criminally insane clogger, is irresponsible.
next thing you know it we'll be letting off those punks who rip off Q- marts who deliberately walk out after the clerk gave them to much change back.
It will be Anarchy !!!

When I worked at the fabric store, we had a woman who worked there for a while who seemed to take a dump every evening she worked. And she ALWAYS clogged the toilet! It got pretty old to have to plunge the toilet each morning after she worked the night before. Fortunately she didn't work there long, otherwise we were going to have to nominate someone to tell her to plunge after she used the pot. And you'd think she'd notice, since it happened EVERY time.

Good afternoon, your Honour, and Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury. I present to you that the charges against my Client are nothing more than a load of crap... And we intend to bring in expert testimony, upto and including Colon Powel to prove it!

The testimony you are about to hear from the DA is nothing more than horse hockey, intended to clog the system of justice.

Which is ironic, because that is exactly what they accuse my client of doing! And I intend to proove that he is no stool pigeon!
