Exodus from Genesis - End scene

Just rewatched Exodus from Genesis. I remember the view of the bugs exiting the ship like golden stardust alright. What I didn't remember and just saw it again was how cool the open space platform they were standing on looked. Can't believe they never reused it in the later series.

I've haven't seen them use that view in any of the episodes again. However if you have any Season1 DVD, you'll notice that they use some of the footage from 'Exodus from Genesis' as the background intro for the DVDs, like when Crichton & Aeryn are chatting at the end.

It was very expensive to shoot that scene. That's why they dropped it.

In the comentary for that ep, Brain said the CGI was major expensive, and he never did like the way it looked when it was finished. That is probably one reason it wasn't used again. Well... it was used in TTBRC, but only in a paasing shot with no externals.

IIRC it was used in PKW, at the end...?

To me though, I thought it wasn't used again b/c of how odd it seemed for them to be walking about the hull of Moya. I mean sure, we can assume there was some sort of 'atmo' made by Moya to support it, but later when they have to suit up in other eps to be just as close to her hull just seems...i dunno...odd.

I thought it was a 'glass' dome that they was in i watched that eppy last night and that was the impression i got. But i did love that scen all the same

The terrace is one my favorite Moya sets in all of FarScape. If I was on Moya, I would probably spend some time there each day. I'm so glad that they chose that for the final scene in PKW. :)


It is possible that just that area of Moya's outer hull has an atmosphere envelope
