First off, I need to thank everyone here for all the prayers and good feelings being sent our way. I know that this was what got our family through this awful week and it means more to me than you'll ever know.
John-William is home. He came home yesterday. He would have been home Friday, but he spiked a fever in the middle of the night and they needed to wait twenty four hours after the last fever. We found out for sure that it was viral meningitis. They were even able to isolate the virus that made him sick. It was a simple virus that would make anyone else have a low grade fever and a runny nose. In him it attacked him so hard and fast it went to meningitis. I know entirely too much about all of this now.
I know that the hand of God was on our family in this entire situation. There were just too many coincidences and 'luck' issues that kept this all from being so much worse. I wrote about some of them in my LJ. http://www.livejournal.com/users/twichie/ (It's pretty long so didn't want to post it here.)
We're still watching him cautiously because his body is still fighting off the virus, but we have hope that we've passed the worst part. Thank you all for the prayers and support. It was a harrowing week for us and I know that the prayers were what kept me going. The support and love means more to us than words can express. Thank you for loving a little boy (and his mom, dad and sisters) that you've never even officially met and adopting us into this huge Jerry Springer family. It's a place we're very honored to be.
