Ah, this is a good one. This morning I go digging around for the coffee. Mission success, coffee is found. Dig out the last filter (must remember to go to the store) and get the coffee maker all set up. Turn it on, go to the couch to check the BBs while I wait for the coffee.

After a few minutes I begin to wonder why I'm not hearing the tell tale sound of water running through the grounds. I know that I put water in the darn thing. I get up and check. Nope, no water in the resevoir, check the basket no water there.

I can swear that I put water in the carafe. Oh, well, decide to go put water in the carafe. Pick it up, spill water all over creation. Yup, forgot to pour the water in the resevoir.

This is gonna be a long day.

I usually just buy my morning coffee from my schools caffeteria(sp?) 70 cents is not too much to pay for your morning coff-fay.

Been there...done that LT Garrix!!! I started setting up the coffee pot at night now so that when my darling hubby gets up...all he has to do is turn it on. ;)
Hope the rest of your day gets better! :D

I may have to start doing that. Normally it's not a problem. Of course, I was trying to rush because the news guys are talking about this big accident that really had my route to work backed up. Fat lot of good it did when the water was sitting in the pot. At least I wasn't staring at it waiting for it to brew.

Unfortunately I have no where to purchase coffee inexpensively at work. Maybe I should bring the baby pot in from home? Or course, driving without coffee may not be advisable if I can't even get the water in the resevior. You know, California highways and all. I kind of need my wits about me.

You've got the wrong job. Where I work there's free coffee. The fuel of every office slave.

Frelled, you are one sweet husband. We get up at different times, and he's out of town anyway, so that wouldn't help the coffee situation. I've pretty much always been the designated cook. I wish I wasn't though. Actually, I'm pretty much designated everything. Only housework he does is fold his clothes. Let's just say its a VERY sore subject right now.

she stopped working a few years ago, but I still do the cooking......when she was working at one point, we had a six week old and a two year old, and they kept her on the road.....4 days a week, talk about trial by fire!

I can't even get out of bed w/o caffeine. So I set a glass of water and an Excedrin right next to the alarm clock at bedtime. Fifteen minutes after the alarm, I have a fighting chance of my feet actaully hitting the floor. Maybe. ;)

I'm able to get out of bed without coffee, but it's only motor responses. I'm incapable of speaking coherently or of any higher functions until I get my morning java.

Normally I do okay. I like the idea of something warm to drink first thing in the morning. My body temp dips way down when I sleep. I think I'll set the pot up tonight to not challenge myself tomorrow morning, though. :D

Thanks for asking! It's okay here. We got supremely lucky and dodged all the storms in the area, although we did have to turn east and go between Puerto Rico and the Dom. Republic (instead of heading north between Cuba & Haiti) in order to avoid Jeanne.

3 more days to St. John's Newfieland, hooray!!

And now back to your regularly-scheduled coffee...
