View Full Version : How would you choose?
Something I was curious about, last night I dreamed I was a kick-ass.. thing in farscape and this got me thinking.
If you could join the farscape realm, what species would you choose, and if you don't know the name of the species, then just give an example, one i'm unsure of is "frellbluka" in Liars guns and money, anyhoo, as well as the species, briefly describe the backround and attitude of the character.

I'd stick with being human, that way me and John could talk pop culture, and he wouldn't feel like such a freak in the universe. Of course I'd offer myself up as his sex slave, cause you know we gotta keep those fluid levels under control or it's total chaos and mayhem. That is if Aeryn doesn't kick my ass first. ;)

Sounds like a plan. :D

Just the realm, eh?
Then I'd choose to be an adjusted Ancient, a la Jack the Ancient.
The Ancients aren't stuck in any of the major power's pockets, they are independent, and they aren't apparently interested in anybody else's game.
Not a real safe place to be, but it suits.

I'd want to be a Nebari escaped from the establishment because they wanted to mind frell me for free thinking and free spirit. It's a heavy price with dark consiquences but I like that whole theme there of the struggle with an awesome singlemindedness with a handfull of wildflowers in it.
Kind of feralish like Chi - maybe a personality kind of clash between Hubero and Chi's dark period just after Crichton Kicks.

That'd be "Frau Blucher" a play on "blue" for her color and "Blucher" as in the Prussian who saved the day for Wellington at Waterloo.
Easy enough to miss. Probably the #1 reason I got hooked on the show was that I spoke Crichtonese before Farscape ever aired... my friends find my cross references equally opaque. I drive them nearly as nuts as John does his compatriots.

Frau Blucher is from Young Frankenstein. There were a lot of references from there in that eppy, appearently-
J: (to Scorpius) All right, Fronkensteen, let's get it on, get your property out of my head.
We had a reader write in and tell us that Fronkensteen is a reference to the Mel Brooks movie Young Frankenstein. Gene Wilder plays the grandson of the original Dr. Frankenstein and he is in denial about past, so he demands his name be pronounced Fronkensteen.
J: It's kinda hard not to flinch here, Scorpy, with Frau Blucher ticklin' my prostate.
Frau Blucher is a reference to Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, as well. She's the creepy housekeeper hilariously portrayed by Cloris Leachman

I'll take some of Jeff's idea mixed in with Lost_Like_Me's.
Human Freelancer. Kicken' emma, taking names, and teaching alien women to love.

That too!
Though I'd have to wonder where "Frau Blucher" came from in Young Frankenstein as well.
Cross references within Cross references. I love it!
Thanks AyuRocks!

The thing with Crichton, though, is that almost all of his references are pop culture ones. TV, movies, comic books, commercials, magazines... If there'a a choice between a reference coming from a movie or a historical figure, I think John's thinking of the movie. ;)

But if the movies reference came from history than the connection is still valid. :D I'll take them both. Makes the whole experience richer.

ROTFLMAO Yeah, I'd offer myself up as John's sex slave, too. Now, Aeryn would have to kick two females asses. :D However, I don't have to be human to have the hots for John Crichton. Gilina, Sarova, Jenavia, and last but not least...gulp...Grayza all wanted the man for one reason or another and none of them were human. So I guess I'd pick Sebacean or similar race.

Human because that would fit me best plus there is the cool plus of being able to appear to be a Sebacean without all their problems ( can't take the heat, have had their family structures destroyed etc )

Flat-face Scarran, the non-evil kind though. I'd want to be apart of Moya's crew. Well, I would do a sex-change and be a male, seeing that picture of the Scarran doctor scared me.
Other than that it would be Human.

Gonna have to go with a Nebari mind cleanser. Pulling the eyeballs out of my deviant countrymen and the occasional terrified alien holds that certain special something for me you just don't get with a regular job. I also get a kickin' Nebari star runner with which to chase down my victims, nifty tech to play with, a lot of autonomy to torment whoever crosses my fancy and probably an evil little helper of Varla level hotness or better.:aok:
