What is this program called WildTangent Game thing and then there is one called WildTangent Web Driver? I have noticed running my antivirus this morning about an Adware stuck in this and it wants me to delete it. Is this something I really need? This is becoming a pain in the eema with this program. It hasnt affected my email or anthing like that. Just when I log on it tells me that the program isnt running.

i know Wild Tangent comes pre-installed on HP machines. It's a time-waster game company (alchemy-type games). It lets you play the games a few times, then askes you to buy it later. But it is gathering information and sending it out (which games you play etc) so it is ad/spy-ware.

Yeah, I've seen a few friends' computers have this installed and it's completely adware or spyware. Adaware may not delete all of the files of the program, so I would suggest that after you run Adaware, go into the programs folder and delete the Wild Tangent program folder.

Also, try using Spybot Search and Destroy in conjunction with Adaware, I find that they compliment each other very nicely and often catch things that the other has missed. Good luck!

WT is also bundled in with AOL Instant Messenger. I took it off my computer and didn't have any problems with AIM

Again yall, lavasoft and spybot are excellent programs, it's wisest to use both together, HOWEVER, aceUtilities is the very best thing to get rid of the index.dat which is where all that crap hides, even AFTER running anti-spyware programs.

A serious bargain, when you consider all it offers - I prefer it to even Norton Systemworks (my former favorite).

Well I run AdAware and Spybot faithfully since DB had me install it. I also run AIM and MSN Messengers, but this was something that came with my computer and I dont play any games on it. So basically to me its useless. So now if I go and do a remove of these two programs of WT it will solve my problem? Im picking up the Adware on my anti virus scan and it wont let me delete it and Im picking up a failure to run WT upon startup. I just didnt know that if I deleted it would it harm any other programs that I do use.

One of these days DB, Im dumping this computer off at your house and I wil let you kick it to the curb and fix it. :D :lol
