View Full Version : Anger Management
I've been looking at grinner's "vanity" thread and it got me thinking, why not have an anger management thread, bear in mind, I don't know if you have had one before or not.
With this thread just let your anger out about anything, I shall start.
Why do they have to make car insurance so bl**dy high here, I can barely afford the petrol on what I have to pay them thieves, there making me pay £1600.00, and thats the cheapest quote I could find :irate: :gnash: :grumpy:
btw, i've been looking at the members list, why do so many ppl register and then clear off and never return again... tis frelling irritating

GAH. I like my roommate but lately she's been leaving her INSANELY BRIGHT light on even after attempt to go to sleep. She has two sets of lights on at the same time, one is, like I said, insanely bright and the other is normal, and she has to have them BOTH on to study. Don't ask me why! I realize she HAS to study, it just ticks me off because I put a curtain up so that if I need to study with the light on, or watch TV or go on the computer, that it's blocked and she can sleep. She said she was going to do the same thing but hasn't!
I've been laying down at 11:30 and then can't get to sleep until 1 in the morning because she has her damn lights on!! 1 in the morning wouldn't be bad if I didn't have 8 o'clock classes 4 days of the week!!! AHHHH!!
It wouldn't bother me all that much if I hadn't be so incredibly considerate of her when she needs to sleep. I dropped close to $70 on everything I need to get the damn curtain set up and all, she can't turn off the insanely bright light. GAH. I've been getting barely any sleep >.< I'm so cranky! I need my sleep, damnit!!

eeek! i hate roomates like that. you need to kick her butt and make her stop with the insanely bright lights. just tell her that if she likes bright lights, you'll shoot her full of little yellow balls of light.

She's way nice and I'd feel so guilty if I yelled at her though >.< I was going to put a curtian around my loft anyway, before all this, I just hadn't quite figured out how I was gonna do that without drilling into the ceiling which isn't allowed. I thought of something last night and I'll probably implement that tonight. That and I'll buy some blinders.
I know, I'm a baby and I can't just yell at her. And i know if I start to talk to her about it, since it makes me so angry, I'll come off really bitchy.
Edit: Maybe I should politely ask her about a curtain for her loft.

do the alan rickman face in Galaxy Quest. maybe that'll scare her. By Grabthor's Hammer...
Edit: Maybe I should politely ask her about a curtain for her loft.
That's an option. Explain that it really is interfering with your sleep. She may not realize she's bothering you that much.
Failing that, two other options. Casually share that "sleeping with the light on may increase cancer risk" study with her, or buy a good sleep mask. The second option has the benefit of also making you feel like a printhess. Or at the very least, Zorro. Sorta.

Ooh, yay...room for my long rant about Residence Life here on campus.
I'm a junior this year, and I was supposed to transfer to another school this semester, but due to unforseen circumstances (which is a subject for a whole other rant), I ended up not being able to attend there until Spring. So, it was either take off a semester or go back to Wingate (the school I'm at now). Taking off a semester wasn't an option, in my book.
So, I'm back here at WU, and because I didn't sign up for the really good housing last spring (i.e., apartments in which I'd have my own room and loo), I was placed in the freshman dorm (a.k.a. Hell with community showers and toilets). Worse still, I have a roommate because enrollment was unusually high this year. Usually, upperclassmen have their own rooms if they're stuck in the dorms.
Last week was room change week, where ResLife moves people out of Hell according to their ranks (calculated by GPA and credit hours). I was near the top of the list, obviously, being a junior. So, one of my friends lives in one of the nice apartments. In fact, it's the same apartment I lived in last year. They have one unoccupied room, and she saw that my name was on the list to be moved. So, she called my room, albeit while I wasn't there. Since she couldn't get a hold of me, she went down to the ResLife office to get them to put in for my transfer. My name is marked as 'MOVED' on their list. So, they picked someone else to be moved into that vacancy...and every other vacancy on campus. There were sophomores moved into apartments...as I sit here with a freshman roommate...whom I won't discuss, as that is yet another rant.
Anyway...I s'pose I'll live. It's just one semester.

ok. I've got something to contribute. Two things, actually:
1) This guy in my recycling class that is always asking questions that if he were paying attention he wouldn't have to ask. Totally slows down the whole class, and it's REALLY annoying.
2) I hate Ticketmaster and all their damn fees! AAAAHHHHHHH!!! I mean, what kind of processing fee can they possibly charge you when you buy your tickets from a computer !?!

My rant... for this week, anyway....
I'm ticked that medical insurance is so $@#^& expensive and the premiums rise every ^$&&#** year! Can't afford to be sick in this country.
I despise intolerant, closed-minded people... and that's all I have to say about that (work issues).
It's frustrating that so many jobs won't hire for entry level positions (even if you have a degree) because of lack of experience. How are you supposed to get experience if no one will hire you? It's entry level... Don't companies want to train people anymore? grrrr... (Not my trouble, but a friend of mine is having this problem).
And I hate lack of sleep.... makes me cranky.

GAH GAH GAH GAH GAH!!
I had a calc exam today (which I'm pretty sure I failed miserably) and I tried to go to sleep last night at 12:30 and my roommate had her stupid lights on. Oh, and her new thing is to have her laptop up in her loft - which means that the damn thing shines directly at my loft if she has it on when I'm trying to sleep. I fell into a state of half-assed sleep at probably 1, and then at 1:41 I fully wake up again and she has her big ass light turned on and is on the phone. At least she had the curtosey to take it out in the hall, but I really wish she would have turned off her lights when she did that so maybe I could have really fallen asleep. It wasn't til way past 2 that she finally turned off all the lights and her computer. Mind you, I have FRELLING 8 O'Clock classes Monday-Thursday, she knows this, we have our schedule on the door. So yeah, I got about 5 hours of sleep last night - right before my exam.. woohooo. I was like hyperventilating and freaking out in my state of half ass sleeping, I was so pissed off, and tired, and cranky. She's probably lucky I didn't get out of the loft and yell at her because I would have gone beserk.
I need to buy blinders like ..... NOW.

Ayu, you seriously need to talk to your roomate. Because if this is bugging you now, you're going to hate her by December. Seriously, I lived with a roomate in a dorm that I totally resented, and it made my life miserable. Talk to her now before you really get mad.

AP- East Lansing Mich
In what appears to be the latest incident of "dorm rage", an 18 year old slew her roommate early this morning. The girl was heard to mutter as she was being carted off by police, "Every frelling night with the light." ...
But on a serious note, turn the tables, every morning when you get up, crank your stereo to some nice soothing Megadeth or something. If she says when the room goes to sleep, then you get to say when it get's up... :aok:

I noticed your complaint. And I empathize with you. I hate all the new subdivisions going up around me, and my degree will be in environmental science/engineering when I finish, so I certainly know about the effects of such developments. I also survived a year with a roomate I hated, I had some advice so I gave it. Since sprawling construction obviously annoys you as much as it does me, I sincerely suggest you attend the public meetings in your area where such zoning decisions are made. Then at least you can have your say in such matters at the planning level. I know the city of Golden (in Colorado) has been fighting the state, which wants to extend a highway through what is currently undeveloped land. I am sure if it weren't for the efforts of the citizens of Golden, that road would be under construction at this moment. Anyway, just my two cents. I find that when I get active with groups like that, I feel like I can actually do something about what is bothering me. Maybe it will work for you too!

I'm traveling through the new age area of suburbia comprised of disposable homes for hundreds of thousands $$ and I noticed they decided to put up a new subdivision right next to the creek...
Not sure where you live, but after all the rain/floods we have gotten in PA, NJ and Del, ANYONE who is willing to buy a house costing hundreds of thousands of dollars near a creek is just asking for trouble.
They are building like crazy round here too. Median homes round here are going for $300,000. And yet I see these things during construction and they are nothing but wood and particle board with a half inch of stone or brick on the outside to make it look like its a stone or brick house when it aint.
Traffic round here is ridiculous. Horsham road is a two lane highway (one road each direction) as are most of the roads round here and they cant handle all this traffic. Rush hour is just ridiculous. Though I work at home, so it doesnt bother me too much. :)

My irritant of the day:
I'm traveling through the new age area of suburbia comprised of disposable homes for hundreds of thousands $$ and I noticed they decided to put up a new subdivision right next to the creek... Ofcourse up until recently there was laws banning any growth near streams but those protections mysteriously disappeared as soon as property in the area became grossly profitable for ambitious scum... Now there is warnings painted on the sidewalk next to the drainage culvert saying something the likes of ""Warning do not dispose of waste, this drain empties into the stream"" There is also a design of a fish, suggesting at the moment this stream still sustains life....How Lovely... So, what we are to surmise is that all oils and chemicals from cars and soaps, sealants and waxes from washing cars in driveways that are draining into the ditch does no harm to this natural body of water... hmmmm... Are people really that stupid to believe this dren or do they just not give a damn. I'm guessing the latter and the former...
I'm not exactly sure what kind of background you have, but just because a subdivison was built doesn't mean that all the cars fuilds and oils will end up in the creek. If this place was designed right, with any luck all that stuff would be mitigated before to made it that far. I would hope the sign is just a idiot warning telling people this isn't thier personal landfill.
My rant- My roommate has been scaped, please hold applasese, now we walks around misquoting EVERYTHING. And on top of that he tries for an Austrailian accent not even close. He comes up somewhere 18th Century english with bad pronucation, espiscieily on Rygel. And on John, BEN'S NOT AUSTRAILIAN YOU SADDO!! (Furlow's word) I'm glad he watches the show, but after seeing the entire show, you'd think he'd get plot lines by now. Nope, He keeps asking me stuff 2 seconds before they explain everything, I have to keep telling him to shut up and watch, "Wait, what do they mean by that?" AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ok, I'm done for a while.

Where I live, its not near a stream but its still annoying enough about people who are scum. Just recently, in fact last night, they arrested 4 teens that went on a stealing spree. It wasnt just my street but all through the entire area. What ever they could get their hands on they stole. Well I have a very tight driveway that supports 3 cars straight back along the house. There is barely enough room to get past the cars if you need to get to the gate. Well they targeted my place as well. This is what they got: All the magnetic ribbons from my car but one. The old junkie plate covers off my old car. Yeah, they actually took the time to unscrew them. Out of my recycle bin they got a broken airconditioner and 3 bald tires. Plus they took the Beware Of Dog signs off the fence and the gate. The fence and the gate are 8' stockade so they wouldnt have been able to get in the yard as its locked on the other side. And God help them if they did. This was done on Tuesday night while I was either at the hospital with my dad or when I was at the meeting at school. The neighbor's car was parked in the street. When I left the hospital, I came home for my paperwork and everything on her car was fine beacuse I parked behind it. When I got back from the school all her stuff that was on the outside of her car was gone. Her magnets and her tire lights were removed. I also noticed that a few other of the neighbors vehilcles were touched this way. A neighbor down the street had 3 bikes stolen off her front enclosed porch and also her plants were taken as well. The house across the street was missing their garden hose. And about 6 or 7 houses that I know of are missing their mailboxes right off their doors. Now I ask this question. What the heck would they need some of this stuff for? And mind you that this all took place around 5 to 7pm. Kind of brave huh? How did everyone miss this activity? To go onto someones porch and steal a mailbox that is screwed to their front door or right next to it. And they didnt rip them down, they unscrewed them. Well today the owner of the bikes has to go and claim them so at least she gets those back. I dont want the stuff stolen from me as it was trash anyways but Jen and I would like the stuff off our cars back. That will be impossible though. The police dont have the tire lights and the magnets are all in a box of about a 1000 of them. But it did burn me a bit because one of mine represented cancer. I had that one ordered. But still. What did they want with a broken airconditioner and 3 bald tires. The police have these. :dunno: I know its not much of a rant but just curiousity as to how they did it and why they did it. And they are not from this neighborhood. Nothing ever really happens in this neighborhood. Its usually quiet and the only people around are generally families and its mostly single family homes. But also we noticed that night, there was alot of glass broken up and down the streets. Bottles that probably came from recycle bins. The street cleaners were called in on Wed morning for that.
I really really really hate living in the city. Its the suburbs here but still classified as part of the city limits.
