A pedestrian was plowed down in a crosswalk in the opposite lane. People from the truck in front of me ran to help him. Emergency vehicles arrived. I could see a faint astral light hovering above the scene (in "John Edwards" terms that mean he's no longer in his body - not a good sign) - So then, this evening, I go out on my date - whilst pleading with him to please slow down, he ran over a cat. He laughed and said,"well, I've killed bigger animals than that." (he's a hunter) I made him take me home. OK, two roadkills in ONE DAY!!! I'm really frelling upset and I can't stop shaking. Death is so not happy. I'm also planning to stay single forever. I know I want a family, but if that's whats out there in terms of men then I'm better off staying independant.
and my kitten has fleas. frelling breeder giving my a pariste ridden kitten. She's in my lap right now.

Sorry to hear about your sad day, Frellster. :(
I can't believe what an insensitive clod your date was. No surprise that the date ended early. What a jerk! :(

I'm still traumatized by a cat that got run over in front of our house 4 years ago. I'd have made that bastard let me out of the car then and there. What a huge jerk!
Not all men are like that. My SO goes out of the way to put spiders outside rather than kill them. He doesn't like to kill anything - biting flies, mosquitos and that damn racoon in our roof being the exceptions.
Seeing road kill makes me very unhappy. It can ruin my whole day. I sympathize with you.
Hopfully your new kitten doesn't have too many fleas. Fortuantely there are good products you can get at your vet to take care of them. We use Revolution on PetMe. Its pricey, but it protects him against fleas, ticks, heartworm, earmites and a couple of intestinal parasites. Nary a flea since we have been using this, and he is indoor/outdoor.

Frellster: What a crappy day for you; to say the least. However hooray for you; getting away from your date so assertivly. So many women would have just put up with it.
You'll find someone. Just have to stop looking for those "bad boys" and find a nice one.

Frellster - so sorry about your day. That stinks!!
In regards to men, the good ones are there. Just stick your guns that you're worth it. It might take time, but it's worth the wait!! Don't throw in the towel.

Hey, Dudette, sorry to hear you had these experiences. By now hopefully you have had a chance to talk to your close friends, maybe thrash it through in your mind. I am a firm believer that death is merely another beginning, but that is cold comefort to those left behind, or who have witnessed as you have. Give yourself a few days, and time will take the edge off, where you have a space to think a bit more about it without the shock. If you need someone else to talk to, drop me a line...

So sorry you had to go through all that, but good call making the creep take you home. You don't need a guy like that. But everyone above is correct.... there ARE good men out there and I hope that you find one (or he finds you).
I had good luck with the flea control product that you apply once a month. But get the expensive kind, not the Hartz kind that is in the grocery store (that gave my cat a bad rash, but the expensive brands don't). I find good prices for it at www.petguys.com.

That's just awful, frellster!
Good for you to ditch the loser and get some flea 'poo from your vet's office to give that poor baby cat a bath -- she's probably just as upset about those frelling fleas as you are.
That has just got to be the worst date I've ever heard of and it sucks that your little kitten can't help as much as she should be able to because of frelling, biting parasites. :(

oh i'm sorry about your day! that must've been horrible! and you're so right in kicking that guy to the curb.
on my way back from home, going back to college, my friends and i were in the car,and it was probably 9 pm. i was on a one lane road, and i was going about 70 to 80 mph, and before i knew it, i hit a possum. it was just in the middle of the road, and i couldn't swerve to avoid it! i felt so bad for a few days. poor thing.

I hit 2 birds Wednesday. It was cool... feathers everywhere. I was driving down the road... and the birds were slow to fly away. Both hit my windshield.
Not that it has anything to do with your situation... just wanted to respond about inoccuous animal slaughter does not make a man the devil.

If I see a dog that has been hit by a car on the side of the road, I always get sad since I know what it is like to lose a pet that way. Heck, I am still sad and heartbroken after Walt got taken from us in March (but Jack helps me feel better).
Earlier in the week, a kid ran into a moving car at where I work. The kid only ended up with minor injuries but it was still scary because I was the first worker on the scene.

Me and my roomates where sitting down for the evening waiting for my family to come in. I was laying on the couch, watching TV. The dog came up, sat next to me, and peed all over the couch.

Some kids are just reckless. It also happened to my dad once. He was driving about 30km/h and suddenly a kid driving a bicycle came from an alley on the street right in front of his car. There was no chance he could've prevented the collision. The kid had no injuries apart from a damaged bike.

I had a wierd experience at my last job. My boss was in the kitchen where I was a cook at and he got electricuted messing with the breakers or something. I heard the pop and then I heard him land on the floor. He was laying there about a few feet away from it. I was still kind of crazy with hearing things and going through some crazy stuff already. I felt/saw a presence by the breakers. When those I worked with went to my boss I just shouted "don't move him!" but I didn't really mean it to them. I felt like whoever was by the breakers was going to take my boss away but this one was not his angels.
When I walked up to him I asked one of my friends if he Knew cpr. He didn't so I told him to call 911. My boss was still breathing tho. He seemed okay but I had some sort of knowing he was on a journey at the moment. At least part of him wasn't in his body. When I looked up one of the others was standing, looking over from my boss's feet so I told him he was standing in the way. Because he was - if my boss was going to go back into his body ... the second he moved out of the way though my boss woke up. He cancelled the 911 call. I went back to work. It was just something that never left my mind because later my boss comes up to me while I'm wondering what all of this 'really' transpired and just says "You're not crazy."
He was a Vietnam war vet, and later when I was at lunch he's saying something to someone else so I can hear it about people ought to let other people go when they want. So I told him his son and daughter still needed a daddy. I know how some people have times in their lives they may die then, or come back and continue and I guess I kind of called him back from one of his. I'll never be sure and I'll always wonder about that, but I was already going through allot and I suppose I thought the presence there was one of the voices I was hearing, trying to spirit my boss away. I didn't want him to be in danger ... They even seemed to 'check me out' to see if I could really do anything about it after I shouted not to move him and then sort of felt him get spirited off anyway, but there's no telling why he came back. Sometimes you can come back ... and sometimes people don't even know they've left. I don't like the way John Edwards takes things like that and puts it on tv and makes money. Some people aren't really there, it's just astral shells.

 I hope today is going better. Some people can be so insensitive and even indifferent when they are driving. I once knew a guy in high school who would actually speed up when he saw an animal trying to cross the road ahead. But there are still a lot of good people out there, don't give up just because of one guy.

From what I heard, the kid ran out from in between two parked cars and was hit by the car.

Which is why they teach us as children to look both ways before we cross the street. Too bad some children forget about that when they are having a lot of fun. :(
