I don't know how many Brian Michael Bendis fans there are on this board, but I may be responsible for two of them...
Anyway, he's gotten a big spread in today's NY Times - written and drawn by him, in his 'Fortune & Glory' style -- here's the link:

And yes, he apparently is prematurely bald - I think it was a lifestyle choice...

love it.
I met him years ago... before he became the big time Marvel writer. He was really cool.

That was good. :D I like his work on Powers and Ultimate Spider-Man, but his current Avengers gig is hit or miss. :(

What about Daredevil? I picked up the last 4 or 5 issues recently, and it blew my socks off! Alex Maleev can illustrate like nobody's business, and the story is grittier than any of the stuff he did in 'Torso', 'Jinx' or the rawer episodes of 'Powers'. I was so moved that I HAD to go buy the first hardback.
USM is good, but his Ultimate FF and X-Men runs were tremendous. Sadly, Ellis can't seem to follow Bendis' act on UFF...
Avengers is a wait-and-see - they are the 'Superman' of Marvel. They've been 'invulnerable' for so long, everybody writing the book had given up trying to give them challenges, esp. after the whole 'Michael' debacle...

Daredevil was good, but I lost interest around #50. I agree about Avengers, but this sort of thing has happened before and things always return to normal.
