I went to my local "Best Buy" (electronics/media store) and noticed that the SCI-FI TV section had been re-arranged. Before, a few weeks ago, they had few farscape individual DVDs taking up a very small corner of the rack. Today, I noticed that there was an entire shelf dedicated to farscape which was almost total empty save for a couple of boxed sets. The clerk said that SCI-FI channel has been ramping up the promotion of farscape and everyone either wants to check out what all the "hub-bub" is about or some older fans just wanting to catch up...

I don't have cable but was visiting my folks this weekend. Turned on the SCI-FI hoping I might get lucky and geeeze man, they were playing the promo like every other commercial...

Good news, I guess. I really have no hopes that farscape would or could make a comeback as a regular series but these recent observations are making me wonder...

Woooo! :woohoo: That's what I'm talking about. Everywhere I've gone to get the S4 DVDs, all sold out.

I make semi-regular Best Buy runs at lunchtime, and I always check out the Farscape section. They went from being at ankle level a few years ago, to being nearly eye level now. They also sell quite well in my area, as I have watched the shelf go from full of box sets to almost empty over the course of a month or so.

Ditto for the Livonia area Best Buys. Yay for Michigan! :D

I must admit I am surprised at how SciFi is promoting FS. I really didn't expect them to give the series the exposure it deserves. They are trying, and I say that to their credit. I am extremely happy at hearing about the sales of FS dvd's.

I'm surprised and pleased at SciFi's promotion. And a great big YAY for Best Buy having a run on DVD's!

Hugs!

I went to 4 Best Buys over the weekend... looking for a CD... anyway, each BestBuy was out of DVD's. I was told, when I asked, that as soon as they come in... they go out the door.

All these sell outs of Farscape DVD's is encouraging news. So is the rush of promos for the mini-series on SciFi. In some ways I am more encouraged by the buying of farscape DVD's, since it shows pocket book support of Farscape, and I assume anyone who actually buys the DVD's is going to want to watch the mini-series. Now, if only enough Nielson Households watch!

I too noticed that my local Best Buy had expanded the Farscape DVDs...and most were gone. :)

I've also seen some other stores stock up on Farscape dvds. The Suncoast Motion Picture Co. store in the mall near me always has the box sets and invididual releases at eye level

My local Best Buy now has an entire stand-alone rack devoted to Farscape. There are probably 20-30 box sets on that rack, mostly season 4. That's besides the normal stock of Farscape theu have in the SciFi section. Seeing all those Farscape DVDs displayed at the front of the store was a nice surprise. :)

Suncoast usually charges full retail value. I wouldn't be surprised if those sat around the shelf for a long while.

Suncoast sucks.

Everytime I go to Borders I bring Farscape up to the front.

The season 4 boxed set is #17 Bestseller at deepdiscountdvd.com!

Hey, I've got friends who work at Suncoast. They store is always clean and friendly. I can pre/back order anything I want, and get it in in a timely manor. Wide instore selection. Though it is slightly more expensive if you get the replay memeber ship you get money back.

Well, I preordered season 3 box set from them for $99, so it wasn't a bad deal. If i had waited until it came out though, I would have had to pay $150, which sucks. I suppose they play with the prices abit to try and rip you off

There prices bounce around. I've seen somethings have a different price every week.

I was in Best Buy on Tuesday, and they had around a dozen and an half box sets on the shelf, proably half were Season 4, about 6 season 2, and a couple of season 1 & 3. When I went in there yesterday (Saturday) all they had left were 2 Season 4 and 1 Season 3! (and some individual s 3 & 4 "collections"). And, oh, yeah, I bought one of the Season 4 sets.
