WHY is Skiffy saying on the trailer for PKW

"an original SCIFI channel miniseries event" ???????????????????

I thought that it belonged to Henson. I thought that skiffy just bought the rights to air it... Does that mean that they now OWN it and that they can promote it as a SCIFI channel event? I'd really appreciate if someone could tell me why they're doing this.

MS explained in another thread that original means exclusive to that channel, not that they produced it.

It's just a reference to them showing it exclusively first in the world on tv. :) They still don't own it(It's Hensons)-they are just showing it as their presentation. It's Entertainment business speak. :D

You're right they did word it as if they created it. Other stations use those words when stating that. Sounds a little underhanded to me. What they should have said is an exclusive event, not an original SCI FI event.

but it sounds like they hand in making it. that's the problem

It's not just Farscape--EVERYTHING that SciFi shows on their channel that is exclusive to them is advertised as a "SciFi Original", whether they produced it or just paid to screen it. It may seem a kick in the face given that most of what SciFi shows is the result of the hard work of people OTHER than those working for SciFi, but what can we do? Other than express our displeasure at the practice, that is ;)

Sounds a little underhanded to me.

when has sci fi not been a little underhanded? especially when it comes to farscape? its a little bittersweet that the mini is coming to them. i like how theyre still trying to treat it like its over. all great stories come to an end. they can kiss my mivonks and get frelled.

I have to say that I do love how skiffy is promo'ing the S1-S4 episodes..

My favorite?

"88 hours... 11 days... every single FRELLING episode!!" :bounce:

And I've been watching (at work). It feels sooooo good to see Farscape. But it still hacks me off to hear them say that it's a Sci-Fi "Original" when referring to the miniseries. I understand the entertainment speak, but I don't have to like it or approve of it.
