Hey, Won't Get Fooled Again is on but I think they're editing the episodes for time so they can put in more commercials :(

The season 2 DVDs don't have extra footage like the season 1 DVDs. But in WGFA, they cut out the reaction scene after John throws Rygel/D.Logan over the rail. The whole "You're just pissed, because I ain't doing things your way!" speech.

Grr...

He said 'pissed'. You can't say that on American TV. ;)

At least not during the day. Somethings that go after 9pm don't go earlier in the day.

No it's not that. Because they just played "The Locket" and included the "I'm too old for this shit" line....

Yep. I noticed at least one obvious cut in . . . oh frell, what's the name. . . the S1 ep with Maldis (my mind is gone). In the scene where Maldis was showing Crais how Tauvo "looked" now, I believe they cut the entire segment with Crais' father and how he was conscripted into Peacekeeper service. Ticked me off, but at least they're showing the eps.

I know they did a lot of this (cutting eps not for objectionable content, but simply to make more time for commercials) on FX when I was trying to get caught up with Buffy a few years ago, so it doesn't surprise me at all to hear that they're doing it on SciFi. And if I'm remembering correctly, in that case it wasn't even the network that did the cutting -- it was that there was a shorter version of each episode produced specifically for airing in syndication (as opposed to a first-run ep, when the full version would be shown) by Mutant Enemy.

Well, for season 1 the versions broadcast in the UK and US were different with the US one being shorter. It's entirely possible that the scene in question was cut out of the original airing. The DVDs are the UK version. I never saw this one during the original airing, so I don't know.

:dunno: but I don't think it matters that much. It's unfortunate, but as long as the eps are being shown, that's all that matters. But that's me :)...

I'm pretty sure that you can say 'pissed' during the daytime... as I recall hearing in on Soaps... and on Buffy. Spike says it... and during re-runs on TNT, it is still on it.

Hey Atlantagirl the season one ep with Maldis was "That Old Black Magic."

The one that ticked me off the most, as far as cutting, was The Choice. They clipped a pivotal scene in the opening of th ep where Aeryn is sitting by the window ledge fingering the knife in her hand. She looks at it with longing and than directs her gaze to the pulse pistoll on the chair across the room. She is thinking about killing herself and Claudia Black doesn't have to say a word to convey Aeryn's thoughts. They cut that whole scene and it was such a waste.

Aaaaggghhh!!! I knew that! I knew that! :headbang:

That makes me crazy when I can't remember. Thanks for reminding me.

I can't stand it when they cut stuff. I sure hope it's not like chasa said happened with Buffy and that these are the versions we'll see in any future syndicated showings, but it seems likely that they are. On the bright side, it seems to me that this might indicate a substantial change in the contract between SciFi and Henson. If they are now showing syndicated episodes versus their originally cut first run eps, then perhaps other networks (given enough inducement) could also pick up the series in syndication now. Wouldn't THAT be interesting. . . .

Cutting episodes wouldn't surprise me. They've done it before. I can specifically think of at least one occurence. Last time they played "Promises" (a few weeks ago at like 4 AM) they cut a small scene where Grayza orders a scientist to go to the Aurora Chamber. I was disappointed.

Personally, I'm surprised Sci-Fi would cut "pissed" considering they've let Farscape say "shit" and flip the bird multiple times in "Kansas" and "Terra Firma".

I don't believe that they have to cut language. This is broadcast strictly over satellite/cable, and not transmitted.
