This is a not-so-little video I made for all the Scapers out there, especially ones who may be losing hope... Never say die folks, NEVER SAY DIE!!!

Kithlyara, I used a program called Ulead Videostudio

I wished I had more clips to use, but all I had at my disposal was Crichton Kicks and Natural Election (and the previously on and opening credit bits from them both)

The video has season 3 and season 4 'spoilers'. How severe the spoilers is subject to debate. I wouldn't consider them too serious, but some might.

this video gets so much more of the brain involved. i think we can all agree that seeing it and hearing it in living color just makes more of an impression than simply reading it. no matter what "it" is!

And yeah I have always been baffled at the commercial situation. There are SO many cool commercials that one could make to attract viewers... the thought of having the whole Farscape video libarary at my dispoasal is enough to make one salivate.. and Sci-Fi does, and they have PROFESSIONALS working there (supposedly ;) ). There's really no excuse...

for the bandwith challenged, there are several smaller versions in different formats (Quicktime, WM, Real player) posted by the fine folk(s) at farscapefantasy.com :) the original in the zip file is in MPEG format.. if you have the connection i'd still recoomend that one b/c its the original, but it is a sucker to d/l (almost 19 megs) while the files on Farscapefantasy are much smaller (the quicktime one on that site is quite good quality, and the WM is pretty good too, i didnt try the real player one, b/c I hate real player :-D ).

Hey if you can find a way, its all cool with me. How would it be used though??? Perhaps if someone who has a CD Burner burnt it onto a CD and sent it to UPN/Showtime, or perhaps someone who has teh equip to put it on a tape n send it?? Whatever works...

Just burnt it as a VCD. I think I may burn one, two, or ten and ship those along to some networks (giving author credit [hats off to you Da-Met, you did great], providing no one minds)....seems like it would be in the spirit. btw, i've seen many dvd players that recognize the format so...can't hurt. :) To get it to tape is easy, just record of the the dvd to VHS (dvd and vcr required ;). Thoughts?

any chance you could slip some subliminal 'pick up farscape' messages in there somewhere ;)

I'm burning a "Save Farscape" CD that will contain the movie, and as much as the "I am Farscape" pictures and letters I can find.

I hope to get it out tomorrow to Showtime and UPN.

I plan to send it to SciFi to help them realize what they've lost. :)

quick question: anyone have mpeg copies of the CNN coverage? For the price of blank CD's putting the '1812' and news coverage together as a mailer can only help (provided im not breaking any laws regarding copyrighted music, images, or broadcasts...but it's not for profit so....any lawyers in the house?) Now I wonder if I can make use of the CD labler/printer at work....hmmmm....

^ Hmm well I wasn't even aware of any contest till I just read your post (and then tracked down the convention site)... dunno, I'd like to I guess... not so much for the contest itself, but to expose it to more Scapers... so they know that HOPE REMAINS... I have to concur with many who are saying this touched them. Someone mentioned that they were in "automatic" mode ever since this happened. For me I have been keeping from sadness by embracing a bit of anger. Until I watched this.

My wife, who really hasn't been as involved in this but is a fan, couldn't believe she had not already sent at least one letter.

I doubt any of these shows would use it due to licensing or some other legal issue involved, but IF it does... well, this will be close to the cherry on the icing of wonderful cake. And it will still be a beautiful cake if we don't get to eat it, believe me!

I like the idea of putting together a CD to mail out to folks. I've also been keeping track of a lot of the good stuff, and have mad pimp-tight CD burning hardware and labeling, so I might could help on this, too.

I just wanted to make a possible request.. someone mentioned that if burned to a VCD then run through a dvd player, that you could record the vid onto a VHS... was wondering if anyone was capable of this and would be willing to do it and mail the tape to me. I would obviously re-imburse you for any costs (shipping, blank tape, whatever other costs there might be... which i'm sure there will be, society these days grr ;) ). Its not a huge priority (Saving Farscape efforst should be first) but if anyone would be willing, drop me a line either by email (preferable) at avirk@umd.umich.edu or by prv message!

Wow, this thread certainly came back from teh dead :-D thanks to whoever bumped it.

Regarding the green frames...funny that. They showed up on my computer too but didnt show up on any other computer at all i watched it on...... I suspect that if you have Ulead Videostudio (the proggie I used to make it) installed, then those green frames come... at least I think thats the case. Or some other weird quirk that only shows up on certain computers...
