View Full Version : I got Starburst DVD vol. 1 today!!!

It's fantastic! Just one thing, though: the insert inside the DVDs says there is a commentary By Ben and Claudia for PK Tech Girl, however, it's actually not on the DVD itself. I can't find it anywhere! Anyone else w/the same problem?

Thats not an insert, its actually a coupon you redeem to have Ben and Claudia come over and do the commentary for you live :D (thats why its not on the DVD)

I ordered mine through deepdiscountDVD.com couple weeks ago and they said they expected to ship it out on Nov. 19...but that was too frelling long! So, I went and got it from Best Buy this afternoon. :)

I was just going to post about this. On the case it says there only 6 commentaries (all but PK Tech Girl), so I was really psyched to see the insert that said there was one with BB and CB for PKTG...then there wasn't. lol

I dunno why I feel such a little triumph, to walk into my walmart and find an associate and say "would you kindly direct me to the FarScape?" and have her say 'Yes, Sir, right this way...'

but it does feel good...

Do you think the Walmart manager would mind if I perched myself in the DVD section, and spread some Scaper love? How about over the loudspeaker? Nah, they wouldn't mind. :)

Even though I have the whole DVD series, I ordered the starburst edition today - My 1st season are a little worn so it's worth it :) . Can't wait, had it shipped 2nd day. I can't believe I missed this release - where have I been? :drunk:

Picked mine up yesterday at Best Buy ... got in line right behind someone paying for it ... we had a quick "hell yeah" in line ... those Scapers are EVERYWHERE !!!!!!

Basically, syndication raises the bar for new viewers to come onboard. The more viewers you get, the better your chances for a future deal (when you're dealing with something new-ish like Farscape). Look at Andromeda. If I'm not mistaken, they went into syndication and now they have new episodes on SciFi.

And as my old drill sergeant used to say: YOU DUMBASSES!!! HIT THE DIRT AND GIVE ME SOME FRONT, BACK, GO!!!... oh wait, that wasn't it... it was The only dumb question is the one that goes unasked! Of course, we were playing with explosives at the time....

I've LONG wanted to take the plunge into Farscape, but at around 100 bucks a season, the cost is 2-2.5 times more than some other season sets, so I could never justify it. When I walked into Best Buy and saw the Starburst Edition for *12.99* though, I bought it without hesitation!! At around 15 bucks per dvd, I presume 3 per season, that's FINALLY REASONABLY priced! Now I'm going to watch these frelling dvds. (I have NO idea what that means, but I've heard it, so I am using it. :) )

I have a question about this first Starburst edition. They added some new behind the scenes features, right? But the commentaries on the first set are still the same, aren't they?

Yes, the commentaries on Starburst edition volume 1 are the same that are on the original ADV release. Somewhere I read there was going to be 14 new commentaries spread throughout the series on the Starburst editions.

During ADV's chat with David Kemper they said there's gonna be 14 COMPLETELY NEW commentaries by Claudia, Ben, David Kemper and Rockne O'Bannon. 3 of them will be included in vol. 2 which is out on the same day as PKW DVD, January 18th 2005.
