I pulled this off of ScifiWire:

"Farscape, which ran for 88 episodes on SCI FI Channel from 1999 to 2003, will air in syndication under a deal with Debmar Studios, which bought the domestic rights and is offering the series to TV stations for weekend play in fall 2005, Variety reported."

Sweet.

Yay! Syndication = more people who can watch Farscape = more networks = more happy fun stuff!

I just heard this on Fox news channel. The only thing was the guy screwed up the word "hezmana". He said "hegmana". Of course it wasn't Shepard Smith, as he is a big fan, but some other guy. This is sweet.

Great. This is a bittersweet day. This is great news but I just got terrible news about an Evil Dead remake.

i heard about that...hopefully it's not what we think it is. I wonder what channel/s Farscape would be on in syndication...

The way syndication works - any local stations or superstations etc. that wanted to buy it, basically.

So, time to get writing to the TV stations in your area ...

I'm putting my money on TBS...They seem to have picked-up all the good, popular syndicated shows as of late (Family Guy, Friends, The X-Files, Sex and the City).

It could be picked up by any tv station local to you. The deal is supposedly to show Farscape once a week on weekends. In my local area one station runs Stargate every Saturday afternoon. THAT'S the station I'll make a point of writing to. That same station also runs Angel and Buffy in the late hours of Saturday night. AND there's another station that runs Mutant X and She Spies -- also on Saturday afternoons. That's another one I'll be sure to write to.

Boy, it would be awesome if WGN Chicago picked it up.

Yes, but that isn't all that encouraging is it ? SG1 gets a 9th season. We get syndication. Somehow even though I understand that this means some people who never had the SciFi channel may now see Farscape for the first time, yes somehow this news doesn't make me want to do the dance of joy. If someone was to tell me we were getting another season of Farscape , I'd do more dancing than Ellen Degeneris...

Ah, but syndication hopefully = more new people getting to see the show + money for the production and finance companies who made the show in the first place + improved DVD sales = Farscape looks better and better as a money maker = much better chance of more new Farscape.

I like your math, Rydra!

Yeah, I'm hoping for WGN too. We get it here and it's a good station.

Sweet. Syndication can only help promote Farscape, and hopefully put some extra money into Henson's accounts. Hopefully, that will translate into more (new) Farscape sometime.
