View Full Version : Season One Starburst Ed. Question.
Hi all, I wasnt sure where to put this so I figured this would be the best place since the SB Ed. is season one eps.
I was wondering if anyone was having problems with the BSides of the discs not playing for them? I bought a copy of the SB Ed last night and the A sides both play fine, yet the B sides will only work sometimes - freezing up or refusing to play at all- and the second episode on the first disc wont play at all. Thinking I had a faulty disc I took it back and exchanged it, and the new discs are exactly the same way. Anyone know what is up with this?

Welcome Swoo!
Mine seem to work fine. I haven't watched everything yet, but so far all the commentaries and Brian's new interview are OK. I'll check everything else out this weekend.
I'd check with ADV. They probably have a bad batch out there and you won't be the only one with the problem.
Thanks, I will send them a email and see if they can clear things up. The worst part is it is (of course) the episode I wanted to see the most and was the first one I went to play!

im having problems with the starburst edition dvd's too. the first set was fine but a little shady in places. i noticed a few times it seemed like the dvd didn't know where it needed to go on the second episode of the side. then on the second collection i cant even get Jeremiah Chrichton to play at all. the episode or the commentary. every time i click on it it takes me to the FBI warning and the begining of the menu. im getting really sick of hearing pilot say "prepare for starburst". i have a new one being sent to me so i hope it works better. im not to happy for right now.--dave

Basically the same thing that happened to me. Don't worry. I sent an email to ADV and recieved a new one and it plays perfectly fine, so I'm sure they'll take good care of you as well.

Yeah, it's definately just a case of defective disks. I've played Starburst I & II on an Xbox, a portable player, and a cheap piece of junk dvd player and they all played them fine.
I just went through volume 2. The first disc played fine. The second wouldn't play side A on my DVD player, although my laptop handled it okay. Side B worked. Anyway, I sent an email to ADV asking about getting a replacement.

I had issues w/ Disc1, Side A, Vol.1. The sound, more than anything. the music was WAY louder than the voices. On my portable DVD player, it's better.

ADV frankly has lots of issues with defective disc. I had trouble with the original releases and emailed them twice and they never answered back :( Those first releases were pricey too. So far no problems with new starburst for me but I haven't watched every minute. I'm sure I'll find problem places later.
