i'm hooked. i want a pair. Oprah was touting them in today's episode, but i just want a pair of these jeans. they look awesome. and i have curves and i do wish to make them look good, just as they say!
i'm a slave to advertisement. good, because i'm minoring in advertising.
they're too expensive for a pair of jeans...but i'd like a pair. when macy's has their huge sale, i could probably get a decent pair for 40 to 50 bucks. they're so cute! believe it or not, brands like Ecko, Baby Phat, Rocawear and Apple Bottom, that look like they cater to only the African American community are basically fit for almost anyone. Ecko especially is capable of being worn by everyone. Their jeans understand my booty. J.Lo pants understand my booty too. i have a pair of white ones that actually don't make me look bigger. whoo!
i want new jeans...i have an old pair that are amazing, but has been so worn out that i need a new pair, and haven't been able to find the same thing again. sigh.

My favorite jeans are still plain old Levi-Strauss zip fly blue jeans. They're what I change into every day when I come home from work.

Wearing mostly Levi's faded.
I want a black pair of Hillfigure cargo jeans, but they are too damn expensive! They would look good with my Redrum jersey, Harely Davidson boots, and Jack Daniel's Beanie.
And I am all for jeans that understand a woman's booty!

I wish Levi's still made 501's in inseams longer than 32. Bastards used to make them in sizes for us taller people. Like in sizes like 42 waist and 36 inseam.
I miss my button flys.

levi's don't fit me right...their womens jeans are too baggy on me, though i haven't tried new ones in a while...since i've "grown up" the last 2 years or so (meaning i've moved into higher fashion), i've ditched the sears department (where i used to go for clothes) and i've entered macy's (where i find COUTURE..get it right, it's couture! hehehe.). i have hilfiger jeans but they're just a teeny bit too short. calvin klein jeans are a nice fit, but i don't like the blandless of them... i have a pair of ecko red jeans because i love the way they fit (they're very straight leg and slimming and flare out just enough to balance the hips with the legs) and the back pockets are very unique. very cool stitching.
i just took a look at the ecko online store and there wasn't anything i liked enough to buy. i got my last pair of ecko jeans for less than 30 bucks, half of what it would be normally without a sale. i wear forever 21 jeans because those are cheap (15 to 30 bucks) and it's harder now to find a pair that isn't too long. sigh.
my rant is over...and thus my shopping will resume tomorrow, for those perfect jeans. i'm also on the quest for a perfect pair of red boots. mmm. and a perfect pair of round toe leather stiletto boots. sigh. i had them, but i chose to buy the square toe instead. though i love the square toes, i wanted the round toe too. ::que dawson's creek angst soundtrack::

I have to agree about the round toe and square toe boots. Either are fine, though maybe the round toe are more aesthetically pleasing in my mind. The really pointy toe boots just look to strange for me though. I almost have my wife talked into getting a pair of thigh high boots from Victoria's Secret, except they seem to have just the pointy toe kind and she doesn't like those either. Whenever I look at the pointy toe kind, it makes me think you could climb telephone polls by kicking your toes into them or else make elf shoes by pulling the pointed toes up. :D
My wife says the same thing about Levi jeans. They just don't fit right. It seems it is much harder for women to find jeans that fit well. Then when she does find a pair that fits great, the brand either changes the cut or else goes out of business and she has to start the search all over again.

You think buying jeans is a nightmare for tall people?! Try being me. I have a 32 inseam, but a 30 waist. It's nearly impossible to find jeans that fit right in that size.
But I finally found them!! Lucky Brand jeans are the B-O-M-B. And the inset fly says, "Lucky You." Not cheap, but totally worth it.

i don't like pointy toes. i have one pair of square toes and i love them, except they make my feet look bigger than they are, which is unnatural for me because i wear a 6 1/2. most girls i know wear an 8.
i have another pair of boots that could pass as square toes...they're 2 inch heels that actually look more like riding boots to me. they're very flat in the front (no chunkiness) and since they have only a 2 inch heel, they look like riding boots to me.
if your wife is looking for a quality pair of boots that won't be TOO wallet emptying, try rack room shoes. i got my square toes from there, and i wanted a pair of round toes from there. they have an online shopping site there, and the boots are generally comfortable, even if they're from different brands. i got a lot of padding for my square toes, because of the high stiletto heel. if she wants to actually try them on, any department store generally works to help me figure out what i want.

If you have one near you, try looking for Luckys at Nordstrom Rack. Kinda like the Nordstrom outlet. You can get Luckys half-price there.

Try 28 waist!
I no longer wear jeans (except around the house) and I've turned to having my clothes tailored to fit. (Not as expensive as you might think.)

I'm there on the tall people jean shopping. I love the way society pushes the tall, thin look, but doesn't have clothes for tall people. I have been blessed/cursed with a 31" inseam. Most ladies clothing is 30" and a lot of stuff in the 4/6 range is even 28".
I have a great pair of Old Navy jeans. Very nice and stylish and comfy and they weren't break the bank expensive. Not that I can't afford more expensive jeans, but I don't spend a lot of money on clothing.
I have a comfy pair of Levis, but they are pretty out of style. Stone washed and straight legged, I generally just wear them around here.
As for pointy toed shoes, I really don't go for it. Most importantly, it pinches your toes and I can't stand uncomfortable shoes. Then you look like an elf and add to that I were 9.5/10 shoe. Yeah, doesn't work for me. I don't need to make my feet look any bigger than they are.

i like express jeans, and the price is fairly good considering the price of Lucky's (60-130) and the price of apple bottoms (60-90). express jeans typically only run up to 60. it's a good idea though, to go to an outlet to get name brand jeans for half off. i'll do that sometime. i like outlets. i get tons of clothes for less, so i can make it up with quantity! hehehe.
i'm going shopping today for new jeans. sigh. wish me luck.

Ugh, good jeans are so hard to find.
I'm with JL3 -- Express jeans fit nice, but I have to wait for sales. I also like some types of Levis. It is hard to find them that fit my waist and hips though. If they fit my hips, the waist is usually too big; or if the waist fits, the hips are too narrow. As for length, I am always halfway in between whatever the choices are, so I can either have flood pants or have to roll them up an inch. Frustrating.
And Murphy's Law of blue jeans = your favorite, most perfectly fitting pair will be the first ones to have a zipper malfunction or other catastrophe. Sigh.

I agree, don't like the pointy toe shoes either, they just look evil. :P I wear a size 5 and most department stores no longer carry size 5 anymore....really ticks me off. I have found that Rack Room shoes do carry my size and they are very reasonably priced, so that is where I have been buying all my shoes from. I must admit, now that I know where I can find them, I now have a shoe fetish :lol As for jeans, I am petite but I can easily find jeans that fit me at Express and Petite Sophisticate. I do wait until they go on sale though because I can not see paying $40 to $ 50 for a pair of jeans, not to mention I can't afford that. But both stores have great sales so that's when I usually buy mine.

i am so happy to find people who live on my hall who wear a 6.5. us small footed girls are very hard to shop for! most department stores carry plenty of 6.5 but they're almost always gone by the time the sales come by, because of the low quantities they have to begin with, versus sizes like 7 and 8, which are more common sizes among women.

i'm going to the mall today to do a lot of christmas shopping for my friends. and i'm going to buy the Elizabeth Arden Provocative Woman gift set. mmmmmm perfume. smells pretty. what i really also want is the Marc Jacobs Essence set, but it's really expensive. i love Essence. it's got that perfect smell that reminds me of butter, but doesn't make you smell like butter.
you know what i've noticed? i've gotten taller since my earlier days when i bought Express pants in a short. now i am in between a short and a regular! i'd rather get a regular though...it's easier to find taller shoes than it is to find lower shoes, since i HATE flats.

I don't go into shopping stores of any type (except food and computer) during the entire month of December. I do need clothes though. Soon, very soon.

I have trouble finding jeans I like as well. I mostly like ones that are long and bag out a bit. Tough I never learned, I've still got skater in me. The problem is I'm on the thin side, so all the jeans I want, that are long enough usually are way too wide.

thats why man invented the belt. my boyfriend is tall (6'3) but very skinny. why do clothes companies think that just cause you're tall, you're also big too? he wears a bigger waist in order to get the length he needs. it's good that he's skinny, but not too skinny that he can't fit pants on him without them looking TOO baggy.

Of course, size doesn't seem to matter anymore... Kids just seem to wear their jeans around the ankles and hold them up while they walk. Pretty stupid looking, if you ask me.

yeah. i wonder why that is. he doesn't know either. i'm glad he wears his pants baggy enough, but not so much that it's laughable. he keeps his on his waist and his boxers thankfully out of sight above the waist of his pants. i want my man to be polished and put together, not suburban gansta wannabe. which is what a lot of guys around the area are...i mean, come on guys. you live in nice suburban neighborhoods and your parents drive a lexus. what kind of ghetto is that?

one of my co-workers noticed his son one afternoon, about a year ago, leaving the house wearing baggy pants. He grabbed the back of the pants and gave the boy a wedgy. The boy cried (he's 14) and wanted to know what that was about. His dad said that he couldn't sew.
The boy looked confused, still sniffling, *whimp* and said what's that got to do with you hurting me. His dad replied that the pants didn't seem to fit, and the only way he could see to keep them from falling off was to shove them up his ass.
kid wears pants that fit now.

that's hilarious. i think parents are right in teaching their kids exactly how ridiculous they look sometimes...baggy pants are one thing, the arrogance that many of these kids adopt from wearing "trendy" clothes is another. i'd never give into my kid wearing the latest fashion that not only would be out in another 3 weeks, but it costed an outrageous amount. i present to you the prime example: the freakin 13 year olds carrying around authentic louis vuittons. what the frell is that?! i'm 20, and i only have a louis vuitton because my mom gave me one of her old ones! and these little kids wearing push up bras...where do they get the money for this kind of stuff? i see it all the time working in the store. i see these 13 year old girls bring up thongs. what do they need thongs for?! they shouldn't be wearing things that require the absence of panty lines anyway!!! ugggh. i wasn't wearing thongs and push up bras until i was in my senior year of high school!

levis, 505 or 560. I'm the guy that walks in the store, grabs 3 pairs of jeans and walks to the counter, pays cash, then spends 2 hours trying to decide what DVD i want today.

I think you have to go to one of the official Levis stores. But Levis already cost $50 and I'm sure the custom ones are much more. Not having been in a store, I don't know. There's one at the downtown mall, but not the one I generally go to.
I generally try to make a shopping experience as quick as possible, but it's hard since women's clothing sizes aren't standardized, thus the fact I rarely go shopping for clothes. That and the fact anything I'm interested in is no longer available in my size, just the much larger sizes. I get the idea a lot of stores no longer purchase a lot of a specific item in smaller sizes.
waltersgirl
12-19-2004, 07:59 PM
not sure if you can do it online, but you can give levi your measurements and they can custom make a pair.
AgentSun
12-19-2004, 08:00 PM
yeah, but if i can find jeans i don't have to get customized then i would rather do that and it cost less or just as much. levi's last forever, but i usually try different brands to test the waters...
i love clothes shopping, and it's not so frustrating for me as it is for other people, i guess. but everytime i go shopping i learn something new about my body. for instance, i need to wear belts with every pair of jeans i own. i also need to iron the bottoms of my jeans because for some reason or another, they keep flipping up.

guys have easier times with jeans. girls are more particular because of the diversity in body shapes. i can't wear lee or cherokee jeans...they simply don't make them in styles i like. good prices, just not the cuts i like.
I wear Levi's 518. They are so wonderfully comfortable and I like the way they look. I've paid anywhere from $25 - $40 per pair for them. Kohl's sells them for way less than they do in mall department stores.
And who ever said it's always going to be your favorite pair of jeans to suffer the worst fate is so right. My absolute favorite pair of pants just suffered a massive rip next to one of the back pockets. I tried to patch them but it didn't work. :(
And I really really want some Express jeans. But they'll have to wait.
