might be "i'm a big bad football star" syndrome. was, anyway, seeming he's no longer playing football. though i bet he'd play football if there was a packet of weed at the end of the field.

Out of the few hundred potheads I know, most of them are dumbasses, not assholes.
Ricky sounded like a heel from professional wrestling in the interview.
I liked Wallace's style though. (he is an arrogant asshole without weed)

I don't think it's the pot that creates the asshole, it's the other way around (realizes he just that out for others to read)
I didn't see the interview, i don't watch 60 minutes.

Is it the first segment or later into the show? I generally don't watch it.

Ah yes. The Dolphins were sueing him for 7+ million...right? Crazy, that guy was a great player.

he violated the contract. according to msn sports, it's 8.6 million. but an extra 1.6 or so isn't important...who's counting? :)

I only caught the last half of the interview. A little :loco: maybe? Look... he wants to drop his football career, toke on weed and commune with nature... FINE... whatever floats your boat. But, how he went about the whole thing... THAT is what makes him an a**h*le. You follow through with your commitments. You take responsibility for your actions. Even if he doesn't want to finish his entire contract, he should've gone to the front office... told the Dolphin organization that this will be his last year... that he'll accept the (possible) four game suspension from the league... then after the season was over, he'd be retiring... and request that neither side be committed to the remainder of the contact terms. He'd probably have to accept a clause not to return to the NFL within a certain amount of the time (if he changed his mind), or give Miami the right of first refusal if he did decide to return. There'd be no grief. No hard feelings. Instead, he's acted like the total flaky burnout that he sounds like.

Yup, it's the way he went about it. I think he realized he was in drug trouble again and for whatever reason his brain told him he should quit rather than face suspension. I think it was very childish and irresponsible to quit. Especially since he's in the public eye so much and a lot of kids looked up to him, right or wrong. He's taught them it's okay to quit when it gets hard.
If he wants to be a pothead, I could care less as long as he doesn't live anywhere near me.
And I think he should have to pay back the money, even if he did blow it. He violated a contract.

Being an asshole is a personality trait – its who you are as a person -- not cause of how much weed you smoke. I know plenty of people who don't do drugs who are assholes.
