View Full Version : Okay, fess up - What's on your Christmas list?

Okay, here are the rules. This is the one thread where it's okay to be VERY materialistic. We all know that Christmas is really about family, and spending time together, and stuff like that. And while Christmas HAS gotten too commericial, what's wrong with discussing, among friends, stuff you would like? So that's what this thread is about. Materialism. Stuff. A list of things you want that you probably don't really need, but for whatever reason, you think your life would be better off if you got said things. And no putting "world peace" or anything on your list. That's not in the spirit of the thread.

Also, please note that I don't *expect* to get everything on my all too long list, or even most of it. My parents just asked me for a list of suggestions, and I gave them one.

So here goes:

Kill Bill v. 1 & 2 DVDS
Robin Hood - Disney Version DVD
Sister Act DVD (don't laugh, okay?)
Hero DVD
Chungyang DVD
Bunch of books on the spread of Confucionism to Korea (I like to think that my lack of ability to spell Confucionism makes me a *little* less nerdy.)
Photo Album with pictures of my Grandma (I miss her and my parents have all the pictures).
Whole Foods gift certificate
Petsmart gift certificate
Sturdy set of the Narnia Chronicles
I also sent my mom a wishlist of clothes I would like from Torrid.

What's on my wish list? The following:

Hmmm. I was too busy finishing up with school this year to make a wish list. The only things I managed to ask for are:

Farscape Seasons 3 and 4
Inuyasha box set
Jet CD
311 CD

And that's it! Isn't that pathetic? I'm going to get stuck with a bunch of stuff I don't want now because I failed to produce a list in advance.

Well, Hubby and I did Christmas before he left and he pretty much got me what I asked for since he didn't have a lot of time to shop, waited til the last minute, he did.

What I would really love, but would only get if I bought it, is a new computer. Old one's getting a little slow compared to the new ones, but it still does what it's supposed to so I can't complain. Though he picks on me because I wore most of the N off. He was trying to type with it and asked me where the N was. He can't touch type and I rarely look at the keyboard so I don't really notice that it's missing. It looks like I have two I's :lol

How did you manage to wear only one key down like that? You must type a lot of words with n in them.

I wondered that, too. I think it has to do with how my fingernail hits the N key. I think it just chipped away at the last 2/3 of it over time. When I type I hit the middle part of that key. I'm starting to wear off part of the D now, too. Again, the fingernail.

There really isn't much of anything that I want this year. Farscape DVDs. Money. Deadsy's new CD Phantasmagoria isn't even out yet, I think it's supposed to come out sometime in early-ish 2005, I'm guessing-hoping February.

A new guitar and amp. I actually bought them already and "tested" for a while :D Next thing to do is to wrap them in gift paper and pretend I'm surprised of what I got from Santa ;)

Sadly, I had to be responsible this Christmas (I hate being responsible... Christmas is meant for toys and LOTS OF THEM!! :irate: .... yes, I am 32 years old, what of it :))

Kitchen utensils... which my secret santa at work has given me... and now my New Years secret santa will probably give me more... oh well, you can never have too many kitchen utensils ;)

A Crock pot

plates, silverware, the like

Basically anything that someone who's FINALLY out on their OWN with NOOOOOOOOOO roommates (thank GOD!) would need.

No, I didn't just move out of my mom's house :P that was back when I was 18... but I was in the army... then I had roommates who always had that stuff, so I never bought any of it... now I'm finally alone and I have none of it ;)

A dvd player
any Farscape dvd's
and the third one I got already: A Lost Weekend Mambo shirt :woohoo: .

Well, a great big pile of money would be really terrific!

Depends. Does dominion over man and beasts came as gift certificate? If so, it better have embedded metal strips, holograms and all that anti-conterfeiting stuff. Otherwise I would be scanning those certificates onto the hard drive and printing as needed. Tricky business, administrating dominion over man and beasts. Hey, I notice women got themselves excluded from that one. How did they manage that, I wonder?

I really have to laugh at this because I want a new keyboard. I no longer have the letters A,S,D,K,L,M,O and I as they are rubbed off. And Im missing the "down arrow" key. Darn gremlins stole it. I swear. :) I also want Seasons 3 and 4 box sets. See? I dont ask for much. :)

Thanks, BC, now I don't feel bad about my mostly missing N and partially missing D. Of course I have worn some very nice shiny spots on my keys. Funny thing is, I was wearing a spot on the right side of the space bar, and was feeling some repetitive stress in the right hand, too, darn mouses, so I trained myself to hit the space bar with my left thumb and now have a very shiny spot there. I've also trained myself to use the mouse left handed, but I still keep doing the touchpad with the right most of the time.

Sadly, it's a laptop so there will be no replacement keyboard for me, but that's okay, I know where everything is. :D

I only asked for one thing. A Johnny Damon Red Sox Shirt. I'm from Boston, the Red Sox won this year, and Johnny is the man. And I know I am getting it, because my father always delivers. Go Sox!
