Straczynski's already doing a bang-up job on 'Amazing Spider-Man', 'Dr. Strange' and his own creator-owned title 'Supreme Power'. I suspect his Doctor Doom will enter a whole new paradigm...

The only thing that might chew is the fact that his premiere on the title will correspond with the 'Fantastic Four' movie. (If only they could have gotten Straczynski to write the script...)

The World's Greatest Comics Magazine is about to be shaken up in a major way. Recently it was announced that writer Mark Waid and artist Mike Wieringo were stepping down from the "Fantastic Four" after a long and successful run, but there was no mention of who the new creative team would be. Finally, it can be revealed - writer J. Michael Straczynski ("Amazing Spider-Man," "Supreme Power") steps in to the writer's chair on "Fantastic Four" with June's issue #527. CBR News caught up with with Straczynski to learn what his plans are for Marvel's first family.

Straczynski's opening story arc is titled "Distant Music" and the writer says he's already turned in the first script last month with the next one due soon, so he's currently five months ahead of schedule and plans on staying with the title for a while. "I'll stay until Marvel decides I suck, or I decide I suck, and then I'm gone," Straczynski told CBR News. At this point, though, no announcement has been made regarding the artistic staff on the book.

Actually, a lot of people apparently h8ted his recent ASM arc, 'Past Sins', but after scratching my head a bit, and seeing where he ended up, I really didn't mind at all.

I liked it too, but for a minute there, I was thrown for a loop, b/c Gwen and Peter never did the nasty, as far as I could recall.

I think people were responding to the potential ret-con, but I had fully STOPPED being interested in the book, until I learned that JMS was working on the book, but he's really given new life to the thing; it's about storytelling again, as opposed to 'kewl' drawings.

And what do think happened that time she insisted they had dinner at her apartment?

Did that kind of thing cross any of our minds? I was 11 years old. I thought she just *liked* Peter. 'Carnal' wasn't in my vocabulary, yet...

OMG. it was a 20¢ comic... (shaking head) ... and it's got a $250 value if you've got it in NM condition. Once I probably had it, but probably no longer..

I'm a fan of Straczynski, but I wasn't a fan of Sins Past. Only thing I liked was Deodato artwork. Still, I think he's a good choice for FF.
