Farscape checks

So I’ve found a site that will put your photo on your checks for you (how cool is that!). Anyway, since no check publisher seems interested in doing Farscape checks (even though they have nearly 20 different Star Trek check sets and check sets for every minor faction of society), I want to make my own. Who do I talk to for permission to use Farscape images? any ideas?

if they're your personal checks, do you need permission? Wouldn't it kind of be like making a t-shirt with a Farscape picture on it? You're wearing it, and you're not trying to make any money off of it?

Most companies won't work with copyrighted material. That's the hitch. But you might be able to find some nice copyright safe stuff in the graphics area. Our artists are brilliant. And if you like Ratscape's stuff, he *might* give permission to use his stuff. :)

I actually have some drawings that I did myself and I've tried to put them on stuff from CafePress, but they still say the images are copy-rited. I haven't approached the check company, but assumed they would have a similar view. I know there are images the Henson has OK'd for promotional use, but it has to be a pretty big promotion ... which this isn't. I don't know, just thought I'd ask if anyone knew how to get permission. I'll check out the link that Kurt posted. Thanks.
