Here you can talk about all video games and systems way back to the classic "pong" to...one of my personal favorites "Resident Evil 4" and games that are in the works. Classic systems such as Atari to Todays systems and even your thoughts on the next generation consoles. PC games as well too.
And I know I cannot be the only gamer on here so let's get started.
Games I'm most looking forward to are:
Resonance - Xbox, it's coming out March 1st...but it keeps getting pushed back :(
WWE WrestleMania 21 - Xbox, March 8th...looks pretty cool :)
Doom 3 - Xbox, March 8th...they say that it's going to be better on Xbox, but not as pretty as PC.
Red Ninja: End of Honor - Xbox
LEGO Star Wars - Xbox April 26th, maybe...I have to play it first.
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith - Xbox May 5th
Conker: Live & Reloaded - Xbox, May sometime
The Suffering: Ties That Bind - Xbox, second quarter of 05
Batman Begins - Xbox, September 16th
Hitman: Blood Money - Xbox, last quarter of 05
Knights of the Temple - Xbox, same as above
DOAX 2 (Working Title) - Xbox, 2006
Spriderman 3 - Xbox maybe Xbox 2, 2007
Some of them are also coming to PS2 but I usually get the for Xbox.
PS2 games:
Tekken 5 - February 25th
God of War - March 22nd
Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 - April 12th
Darkwatch - May 3rd
Destroy All Humans! - May 24th
Fear & Respect - November
James Bond 007: From Russia With Love - 4th quarter 05
WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2 - same as above
Campfire - TBA 05
Nightmare Creatures 3: Angel of Darkness - same as above
Tomb Raider VII - same as above
The Living Dead :George Romero Project - 1st quarter of 06
Metal Gear Solid 4 - 2007, it'll probably be on PS3
GameCube:
Geist - June 1st
The Legend of Zelda - June 1st
Camelot RPG - TBA 05
The Darkness - 2006
I'm also saving up for PS3 and Xbox 2 or whatever they're going to call it. I'm getting excited about the PS3 though, Sony and Toshiba are doing wonders with that system...it should be really cool.
I've been a gamer since the early Atari 2600 days...it amazing how far we've come since then.
I gotta have my games. :D
So, what are your thoughts on video games or the systems? what are you most looking forward to?

i haven't played any video games recently but am usually a huge gamer.
I am really looking forward to doom III for xbox when it comes out, i'm gonna get the special edition version because it comes with doom I and Doom II. sweet!
One of my all time favorite games was on the xbox and it was Deus Ex: invisible war. Great game, so detailed and involved that you could play it over and over again and probably never have the same experience.

Doom 3 for Xbox has been pushed back. :(
And my brother just scratched the hell outta our Halo 2, so now I gotta get another one cause thats what he plays on Xbox Live.
I cant wait for Resident Evil 4 to come out for Playstation 2 (or so they have claimed) cause of course I got rid of my Gamecube before I knew it was coming out.
Did you get your Xbox modded? I've been wanting to do that (and of course with this Halo 2 scratching I really wish I would have) but I'm thinking I'm going to probably get rid of the Xbox and PS2 when the newer versions come out, so I dont want to waste the money now.

I got fed up with a lot of pc games. The one that really ticked me off didn't have a pause feature, you had to go to escape everytime you walked away from the screen, which took freaking forever and they didn't have cheat codes. Yes, I cheat. I don't ever play against people online and I am playing the game to relax and enjoy. I can't do that if I'm either getting my character killed every 5 minutes or I have to play for 40 hours just to build up my assests to be able to do anything like buy, sell or leave town. The company who ticked me off about the pause feature said, " Our game is more realistic than any other game, and there are no pause buttons in real life." If I wanted real life, I wouldn't be on the computer 12 hours a day. Duh!

i like the old computer games i.e. quake ( awesome game!) and stuff like that. i think i like them because when they came out they were original. i used to play unreal tournament online and thought it was the best ever! then they came out with the other versions and they sucked.

I heard Resident Evil 4 might not be as good on the PS2, but then I heard it may be better so I don't know...how could they frell up Resident Evil 4? anyways it's coming out for PS2 the 4th quarter of 2005...here's a screen shot of it. I don't know, it looks pretty to me :D

Yes, I have my Xbox modded, as well as my PS2. I play all my games off the hard drive for both systems. The only thing different about the PS2 is that it's not modded, it works pretty much like the Xbox but without a mod chip. You need the online adapter, a hard drive and a special disc...it's great for not having to worry about your discs getting frelled up, plus the hard drive loads way faster than the disc :)
I wouldn't sell your systems when the new ones come out. I sold many classic systems in the past and lost alot of cash. I bought my PS2 and Xbox on launch, Xbox was $800 and PS2 $500 keep in mind that is Canadian
You know what I'd get for them now? about $75
it just ain't worth it to me...but it's up to you.
I'm going to keep mine as collectors items when I'm through playing with them.
Besides, there's alot of cool games coming out even after the next generation systems come out.

The only reason I sell the systems I dont play anymore is cause when I upgrade to the Xbox2 and Playstation3, both of them claim they are going to play games from the older systems. I just hope both these new systems will be able to be modded, cause next time round - I'm modding. :)
I must admit though, I miss playing Kid Icarus on Nintendo.

I just got GT4 yesterday. I had forgot just how hard those games are. 16 tests for the first figgin licence.
Lately I've played KOTOR2 which rocked and Fable which I have been totally unable to get into. (Both Xbox) I stopped playing City of Heroes a couple months ago. That's a killer game I just needed the sub-fee for something else. Which is why I haven't bought World of Warcraft. I was in the open Beta for it and that game just rocks all other online-rpgs imo. Doom III for the computer was awsome. Along with killer game-play the story and mood setting they did was well above anything I had seen so far (Haven't played HL2 yet).

Don't worry LiLOrion, I'm sure someone out there will figure something out for the nex-gen systems ;) ...they could even be working on something now.
matt_boy, Halo 2 rocks! I found it a little slow at first but it gets going pretty fast...It's pretty short I found though, just as it's getting really good, it ends but isn't that with most games? I never want good games to end.

Lately, I've been picking up a lot of import PS2 RPGs off of usenet. Stuff that will never making stateside, so I don't consider it too shady. Tales of Rebirth; Top o Nerae! Gunbuster; VM Japan; Suigetsu to name a few. It's great, since I don't understand a lick of Japanese, play these games is just like living my life, I'm constantly confused, I need a quide just to wipe my ass, and I laugh like an idiot at things I don't understand. :D

I also got "Fight Night: Round Two" for PS2 I haven't played it very much yet but it looks really good.
And one more..."Lord Of The Rings: The Third Age" for the Xbox...I haven't played it at all yet, just to see if it worked on my hard drive. I think I could get into it. I wanna finish Brothers in Arms first.

yeah good thinking. The next game i might get just for fun will probably be Scrapland for xbox (i don't really play my ps2 anymore) by American Mcgee. He made the pc game Alice. It is supposed to be a robot GTA. It didn't get very good reviews but i don't always trust the critics, they said some games were bad and i loved them and they have said some games were great and i hated them. Like whats the deal with Panzer Dragoon Orta Boring!!

Yeah, same here...the critics sometimes don't know what they're talking about. I've played many games that they hated and I loved, and the other way around.
I played the first Panzer Dragoon for the Sega Saturn. It was pretty good ...for it's time, I probably wouldn't be able to stand it now. As far as the newest one? I never tried it.
The best thing to do when you wanna buy a game is to check out in-game action first...find out as much info as you can on it, then if think you'll like it rent it first then buy it if you think it's worth buying. Me I don't buy games anymore...don't have to, I just rent and put them on the hard drive.
Except for GameCube games...but I VERY rarely buy one of them...Resident Evil 4 was an exception :) I was going to get the Cube modded but it's not worth it for me, most the games I play on either Xbox or PS2 or both.
Plus with the new systems just around the corner...ahhh video games...what a great time to be a gamer :D
Hey did you hear that Sony might be revealing the PS3 sooner than E3?
Here's a little write-up I found about it from ign.com
Sony Revealing PS3 Next Week?
RUMOR: If the new system is shown early, just who will see it?
by David Adams
March 8, 2005 - Sony will unveil the PlayStation 3 to its key executives in an internal meeting next week, according to a story on GamesIndustry.biz. The article reports that the news comes from "senior sources" close to Sony at this year's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
Sony has already stated officially that the PlayStation 3 will be revealed for the first time at this year's E3 in Los Angeles, where rivals Microsoft and Nintendo are also expected to reveal their next console offerings.
Apparently, next week's meeting is for Sony executives only, and even the company's top developers are not invited to the event.
Sony did not return our request for comment by the time of this writing.
If the internal meeting is indeed happening, it seems likely that not only are the PS3's specifications finalized, but a software demonstration should be part of the presentation -- Sony has sent advanced software kits to developers both here and in Japan already.
Either way, we're just a few months away from E3, where the PlayStation 3 will make its first public bow at last. We'll be there, of course, bringing you every tasty detail -- as well as back with more updates in the meantime.

Did you hear the cool extra for the new zelda. I read it is electronic gaming monthly. If you preorder The new zelda ( i guess at eb) you get a bonus disk that has the entire version of windwaker. Except windwaker is now in the same style as the new Zelda, so instead of the cartoony graphics you can play windwaker as a grown up link and it even has two new dungeons that weren't in the original. Thats pretty cool for a pre-order bonus!!!
Oops i think its just for the japanese release. Of course it is they always get the cool stuff.

Its like Halo (only without vehicles) and you also get three other commandos to boss around. It might be considered a short game, though I think Halo 2 was shorter.

The demo absolutely freaked-the-hell-out with my tablet. It would conflict with the drivers in such a way to cause the tablet to quit responding to movements unless I held the pen away for a few seconds. Well, I just got "Cold Fear" it's pretty good, not as good as Resident Evil 4 but it's good.
I got it for the Xbox because I heard that the PS2 version the load times are long when you go into a room. I was going to get it for PS2 anyways because I'd just be putting it on the hard drive but then I remembered that some PS2 games don't work on the HD so I got it for Xbox...I wish I would have taken that chance and got it for PS2 though because my left trigger finger is killing me.
You see, in order to have the behind the shoulder view you have to constantly hold down the left trigger button and the Xbox trigger buttons are stiffer than the PS2's ...after playing this game for 3 hours straight I couldn't use my finger for awhile:lol
Oh well, it's still a pretty good game...who says you can't get injured playing a video game :lol
Also with Fight Night Round 2 when you do a haymaker you've gotta roll your right thumb on the right analog stick...that has caused me a blister so I gotta stay away from that game for awhile ;)

Playing "The Punisher" right now.
Takes place after the 2004 movie, with Frank going to New York to take down other mafias. Tom Jane is back as the voice of Castle
It plays like the game "Dead to Rights", except Frank can dual wield almost any weapon. That includes two pump action shoutguns or two M16s!
Very bloody kills.

I just picked up a copy of Star wars Republic commando for xbox. great game it is really cool. your squads ai is out of this world. there was actually one time when we were in a shootout and i accidentally moved in front of one of my men and he actually told me i was in his way. its really cool they will heal themselves and everything it is realy impressive. the visuals are great and the dialogue isn't stupid. the only problem is that it is kind of hard. i am stuck on one level right now and it is killing me. but if you like squad based shooters this is a good one. plus it tells alot about star wars.

Hah, great. And damn straight. Doom 3? Yeah, didn't/wouldn't pay for it. Half-Life 2? Payed for it, gonna pay for Aftermath, gonna continue shelling out money as long as Marc Laidlaw is around. Anyway, recently upgraded so I've been playing through HL2 again at 1280 (max for this old screen else I'd go to 1600) with 8xAA, 16xAF (sweet lord!). I thought that game looked fantastic before but with those settings pumped up it just has a little more impact. Same in HL2DM.
One thing about HL2DM - do these people that play the game not do anything else with thier lives? I'm not exactly terrible at it but some servers I cant walk a foot without being "derezzed" by a damn Combine Ball.

Some of those players have been playing DM for a while and it is second nature to them. Doom 3 is really good on the computer, all the dynamic lighting physics, and engine is really well put off. Depending on your computer settings, they have a setting of detail that was really extreme that you had to have a very high end computer to push out the quality of it. Very well made.
Soon the expansion for HL2 will come out and nothing big patch for half life is on it's way too. Which you should get.

it was kinda cool the other night, i played halo 2 for the first time with a couple buddies of mine. I won most of the games, but i had a major handicap, my controller was broken, i could only go diagnolly forward to the left and diagnolly backwards to the right. not sure if that makes me that good, or just means theyre that bad.

"This comic strip is based on the ground-breaking PC game Half-Life 2, by Valve software, and is created with the brilliant Gary's Mod (http://www.garry.tv/garrysmod/) tool, which allows users to enter the game and basically play God by spawning and manipulating physical objects, posing character models, creating special effects, and taking pictures.
Those who have never played Half-Life 2 will be in the dark on a lot of the goings-on in the comic strip, as much of the dialogue and situations are pulled directly from the game or are based on the game's plot, history, and background. For those who someday plan to play Half-Life 2, read this comic with caution as there will be major spoilers.
Concerned is the story of Gordon Frohman, former Black Mesa entry-level employee, survivor of the Portal Storms and the Seven Hour War, and now earnest and hard-working citizen of City 17. Frohman is a simple guy trying to earn an honest buck in a post-apocalyptic world ruled mercilessly by hordes of heavily armed alien hybrid soldiers (called Combine) bent on draining the Earth of its last natural resource and exterminating the human race. He also enjoys playing backgammon.
Gordon Frohman arrives on the scene a few weeks before Doctor Gordon Freeman -- scientist, hero, anti-citizen, and star of Half-Life and Half-Life 2 -- first appears in City 17. Due to the similarity in their names, Frohman is often initially mistaken for the crowbar-wielding Freeman, though due to Frohman's chatty nature and general incompetence the error is usually sorted out fairly quickly.
While Gordon Freeman is brought to City 17 to free the remaining human population from the iron grip of the Combine, our mild-mannered Gordon Frohman has no such goals. In fact, he rather likes the Combine, thinks City 17 is a great town, and absolutely idolizes Dr. Wallace Breen, whose television show he watches religiously.
Frohman progresses through the world of Half-Life 2 in much the same way Freeman eventually does, though Frohman is motivated by different reasons. Frohman's adventures begin in the train station of City 17, just like Freeman's, and he soon meets Barney Calhoun, Alyx Vance, visits Dr. Kleiner's lab, makes his way through the canals, arrives at Black Mesa East, then travels through Ravenholm -- while apartment hunting -- up Highway 17, through Nova Prospekt, and then finally back to the City 17 he loves so dearly.
Naturally, Gordon Frohman doesn't command the respect and admiration that Gordon Freeman does, and thus is not given access to the weaponry and transportation that the rebels later provide their scientist cum action-hero with.
All good things must come to an end, however, and one day, the much-anticipated Gordon Freeman shows up and threatens to turn Gordon Frohman's beloved City 17 into a battleground. The revolution begins and it's all-out war with the ultimate fate of the human race in the balance.
There goes the neighborhood."
This is absolutely brilliant. :lol

Just beat Silent Hill 4.
Gonna try Silent Hill 2 next.
I really like the complex religon research that went in to Silent Hill 4 and the sexual/psychological aspects of Silent Hill 2.
Oh, and please don't ever play Dead to Rights 2. The first was a Max Payne rip off, but a good Max Payne rip off

I really haven't had much time for gaming lately between school and work. The last game I played was Tekken 5. It's nice, but it's no Tekken TAG Tournament. The next game I'll probably play will be Quake IV.
Other top favorites:
Chrono Trigger
Tekken TAG Tournament
Quake
Super Mario Bros. All-Stars

I'm strictly a PC gamer, and I have spent more money on games than I care to think about. I've got some that I play over and over, and NEVER get tired of them, and others that are about as much fun as a farting contest in a small room.
I'm looking forward to "Call of Duty 2", now.

YES! VIDEO GAMES!
People are speaking my language. :-D
I'm looking forward to a lot of things....I'm going to rent Darkwatch tonight, hopefully they'll have it at Blockbuster. I've been waiting to play this game since September.
I'm tired of being the only girl I know who loves video games as much as I do. For that matter, I'm tired of not having friends who don't understand video games.

I'm gonna repeat what i said in a much earlier post. My favorite game to this day is Deus Ex: Invisible War. This is a RPG-esq first person shooter, with by far the best story line i have ever played through. It is on the old gen xbox. the graphics are good and the voice acting isnt bad at all. The variety of weapons are almost endless from guns to the many different types of gernades. You guys have got to check this game out if you havent...it is kinda old.

I much preferred the original Deus Ex. I felt that Invisible War was dumbed down too much for my liking...

I have pretty much given up playing my xbox (which used to be attached to my hip). but now since i have been playing WOW I have had no wanting to play any other video game.
I cant wait til the expansion set comes out. Burning Crusade is going to be suer cool. they are adding 2 new races to the game. The horde has the blood elves ( i want one) and the alliance race is yet to be released. Plus they are upping the lvl cap to 70 and adding a whole new world and adding a new trade job, jewel-crafting. Its going to be awesome!
But right now i am happy lvling up my night elf hunter...hes so cool
