We all know MGS and GTA, but what games out there without much coverage should people be playing?

For Me:

1. Second Sight (PS2, GC)
Follows the story of an MIT graduate named John (Sound familiar?) that wakes up with no memories and psychic powers to boot! You control John as he tries to understand his past and come to grips with his powers. All things seem to point to a military operation he was a part of in a remote Siberian village. Has one of the best twists in fiction since the Sixth Sense.

2. Fallout 1 and 2 (PC)
RPG series set in a post nuclear war America. People are trying to deal with the brave new world. A very Farscapian like universe, filled with dark humor, and hundreds of pop culture references. You can be good or bad, and you can kill anyone. You want to mow down a group of toddlers with a mini-gun? You can in this game. Warning for lots of sex (especially 2), four letter words, and extreme violence. The villians of Fallout 2 inspired the villians in my fic, Season of Death.

As far as RPGs go, I'm surprised you didn't mention Silent Hill 2 on PC. I don't know how good number one is, and number 3's complete crap - only one left to try now is number 4.

Fallout Tactics on PC was quite good as well - there's a whole bunch of maps out for it if the fan sites are still up (and if you have the latest patch), and a few mods so you can play with robot characters or jacked-up deathclaws.

I said this in another thread, but Deus Ex: invisible war for xbox is a game that any sci-fi fan should play, it is wicked cool.

also this is an older game and you have to go to an older console to play it but Shenmue is an awesome game on the dreamcast. Shenmue II is also a good game but it is not as good as the first one.

 You didn't like Silent Hill 3? Well -- I guess you have to play the first one to appreciate it.

Second Sight, I was thinking of trying that one out...Owlman, I think you've convinced me, but one question...do you have full control over the camera? I can't stand it when the camera angles are fixed and your walking then all of a sudden you can't see what the frell's going on.

I never really could get into the Silent Hill series...mostly because of the camera. I still think the second one is the best though, it's the only one I played all the way through.

Ka D'Argo, you know how I feel about Deus Ex: invisible war ...it frelling rules :D
Shenmue was a cool game too...know of any place where sailors hang out? I was wondering if you've seen any sailors around here? about them sailors? :lol
I heard a rumor that Sega might re-release Shenmue and Shenmue II for the Xbox with Shenmue III near the end of this year, like a box set thingy.

A couple of games that didn't get noticed too much that I liked were:
Prisoner Of War -
Thief: Deadly Shadows -

I have soooo many favorites from the oldies to now that I can't even count that high.

In Second Sight, you have full control of the camera.

Arcanum (PC):
Best Storyline EVER. This RPG actually has a world of magic confronted by an industrial revolution. How cool is that? From some of the same people who made Fallout.
