I came across this the other day and I thought it was an absolutely wonderful idea. It's a petition to have Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (HP6) be printed on recycled paper. Supposedly, JKR's already agreed to have the British copies be printed on it, now the American publisher's just have to be convinced. So if you'd like to save some trees, follow this link :)

Raincoast Books (http://www.raincoast.com/publishing/about_pub.html) out of Canada already prints Harry Potter books on recycled paper.

Ancient Forest Friendly: Raincoast Books was awarded the 2003 Ethics in Action Award for its commitment to the responsible purchasing and consumption of paper products.

This award recognizes Raincoast’s three years of ecologically responsible paper use in its daily operations and in the printing of its published books, including the Harry Potter series. As the Canadian publisher of the Harry Potter books, and the only publisher worldwide to print these books on post-consumer recycled paper, Raincoast garnered unprecedented national and international media attention, including special recognition from author J.K. Rowling.

In the back of Order of the Phoenix they tell you what ecological savings they made just with the first Canadian edition of the book.

29,640 trees.
47,007,044 litres of water (enough water to fill 31 Olympic-size swimming pools)
20,248 BTU's of electricity (enough to power the average North American home for 195 years  )
1,215,443 kilograms of greenhouse gases (enough gas to travel 3.9 million kiometers in a car with average fuel efficiency)

Using recycled paper is a very good idea. :D
