question on old animated movie HELP!

ok me and my friend were watching Fern Gully the other day (we were bored) and he brought up that another movie came out about the same time. It had a little mole in it with his friends and an gas truck tipped over and the gas spilled out and the mole sister got sick. so he had to build a plane or something to go find this special medicine to make everyone better. I honestly have no idea what he was talking about. but it is bugging us because now we want to find out what it was. help me! if you have any idea what this movie is please let nme know. At first i thought it was the secrets of nimh but its not. so any help would rock thanks.
