Wow....you have carpet in your backyard? :roflmao:

We have lots of grey squirrels in our yard. I love to watch them play. My hubby says that ours are the fattest ones in our neighborhood because they eat the birdseed that I put out for the birds. :snicker:

Cute little guy. We don't have any squirrels in our neighborhood.
The over-population of feral cats keeps the other wildlife away...

more pics please... having withdrawal of cute little squirrels....

Awh. I love squirrels. We have a bunch on campus here. When you walk too close to them they start making that noise that they make. It's cute.

That squirrel is very cute. The gray ones scare me. Remember the Gieco commercial! *Looks around* there out to get me!

Anywho, I saw a black squirrel the other day. Never seen one before.

The squirrels at our campus had grown so large that they were nicknamed "yard dogs". They were a pretty fearless lot of grey squirrels. I think some of them might have given any wandering feral feline a run for his money, and perhaps they did as I don't recall ever seeing stray cats on campus.

Of course, some of my classmates learned the hard way that you should keep your windows closed if you were in one of the rooms with the lower story ledge running nearby. Over Christmas they left their window cracked (I forget if they had a screen and the squirrels got through it or there was no screen) and the yard dogs rummaged around their room for snacks. They were pretty successful, too. :) What a fun surprise to return to. :lol

The old town of Beloit was riddled with squirrels, but no much in Whitewater. Maybe it's because it's all parking lots here.

My dad used to feed the squirrels all the time. They became "pets". He would have them come right into the back of the house and sit on his chair with him. We also had white squirrels in our neighborhood. Where I live now the back yard is full of them and the dogs chase them. Drives me nuts. :D

Detestable creatures; they eat my mother's tulip bulbs, chew their way into my mother's eaves so I have to crawl under the eaves to put up tin sheeting and replace the insulation (I have claustrophobia - small spaces make me extremely uncomfortable), they sit on her porch and eat the black walnuts from the tree in her yard, making the most bloody awful mess, they dig up my hostas, they yell at me when I go into my own backyard.

I know everyone says they are so cute, but really, folks, they are flea-ridden, disease-carrying, destructive, arboreal rats, ok? Pests.

Arlington TX is over run by giant evil squirrels. You see them everyday, sometimes in small groups. Careful they cpuld take one of your fingers. The only place I've seen where they don't run is Arlington Highschool which has a leagion of underground kitties. They can hold it well due to the walls of the school inclosing several large courtyards.

My neighborhood in Austin is ruled by the cats. Occasionally you see an opossum come in, but you'll never know who long it'll last.

My college campus in San Marcos is ingaded in a turf war between the squirrels who run the trees and grass, and very angry and territorial geese which lord over the sidewalks in the park. There there is the eternal struggle of the ducks, turtles, and fish all fighting over the food we toss into the mote around the theatre building. Actually it's not reall a mot, because the theatre building rests ontop of one of the fish hatcheries.

Anyhoo, here is a dog, and squirrel;

Hope they don't chew into your walls. One did that, and I was forced to eliminate the pest. Didn't want to do it, but all humane approaches failed.

As cute as they are, squirrels are suprisingly hard to kill. Especially since you can't use heavy firepower in neighborhoods.

It's almost as bad as having the undead remains of your possessed hand running around in the walls, while you try to blow it up with a shotgun.

It would have been easy if I would have used my M-16, shotguns or Sniper rifle, but all I could use in the city was my .22 revolver and a pellet gun. I couldn't even use my .45!

So many guns, so little legal reason to use them.

Spedoinkel, you forgot that downtown Austin is run by the bats! They are worshipped here...seriously, it's like cats and the Egyptians. There are bat statues, bat shirts, bat tours, bat watchers, heck - the Austin snowglobe available in a local boutique has bats in it.
It's my theory that hundreds of them crawl into people suits, masquerade as environmentalists and try to make people cut back on pesticide use to ensure a safe food supply for their young...

Oh yeah, I forgot. I don't make it to downtown austin much though.
