Sometimes the smallest things can make the whole day better. I was thinking of just how easy I am to please yesterday when I got a new book in the mail.
My husband made fun of me just because I opened it wide and started sniffing the New Book Smell...
What makes you happy?

OOH! New book smell! I love new book smell!
A new episode of a good show.
Getting letters back from advertisers.
Noticing something new in a FS ep, even after I've watched it countless times.
Extensive comments on a paper that's been graded.
The first day that it's warm enough outside to wear sandals.

New book smell, definitely!!!
Newborn baby smell.... babies just smell SO good!!!
My son telling me "good morning, mama" and "I love You, Mama" (out of the blue)
Someone I love giving me a hug or a kiss for no reason --- just cuz..
Getting something accomplished that I didn't think I'd be able to do on time...
Being praised for something that I worked really hard on...
Hearing from an old friend that I wasn't expecting to hear from...
Getting gifts, cards, flowers, etc for whatever reason..
There's more, but I have to get back to work.. :D

Random anything... but especially humor...
Like Arrested Development...
Or the other day in one of my classes when the prof asked us what we thought morphology was and a student said, under his breath, "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers." It was so random... I just cracked up!

right now the sounds of the birds in my backyard is very pleasant. and knowing that the trees are finally getting green again. I love to just be outside by myself when it's peaceful and calm. I find it very soothing :)

I like the feel of good quality paper in a new book!
When my husband answers me "As you wish" when I ask him to do something for me. That just thrills me! :D
When my dog Ripley snuggles up against me.
The taste of the first cup of coffee in the morning.

Smell of a book, period. Especially turning books with thin pages. The Harry Potter books I LOVE the pages in OotP hardback.

Definitely new book smell.
Finishing yet another little dangly or V in this monster bead net. I know I'm just doing them over and over to make the net, but each one makes me happy.
Coming up with a particularly good moment in a book. It doesn't have to be something big or even pertinent to the main plot. Something funny a character says or does, something cool they see or experience . . . it's the little things that bring the whole thing to life. Coming up with them makes me feel fuzzy.
That first hug from my fella when he gets home from work.
Clean dog smell. Or even better, puppy smell.

An old book smell. I like the really old ones that were printed way back in the sixties or even twenties.

Waking up knowing there is nothing absolutely urgent for me to wake up for, and that I can turn over and go back to sleep without feeling guilty about it.
Laughing so hard I lose my voice. Like at Marscon this March.
Having my dog get up on the bed next to me and lie down to go to sleep.
A kiss and a hug from my son.
Finishing a job, especially a job that took a lot of time and effort. Stepping back and taking a look at it and knowing thatI done good.
My boss giving me a card for Administrative Assistant's Day last month, I was not expecting it, and in it he said to keep up the good work. This man never tells me if I am doing well, it doesn't occur to him that I might need to hear that.*smile*
Sunshine (there has been a lot of rain and very cool days for May here - Twin Cities).
