Friends and fans have been offering words of support to singer Kylie Minogue, 37, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Minogue has been forced to postpone the Australian leg of her world tour to begin immediate treatment.

Record producer Pete Waterman, who helped launch her pop career, was quick to send his "very best wishes" to her during "this difficult time".

Sir Elton John sent a message of love, wishing Minogue a "speedy recovery".

It was announced on Tuesday that Minogue had been diagnosed with breast cancer, which is in its early stages.

In a positive statement, she said: "Hopefully all will work out fine and I'll be back with you all again soon."

Reminds me a lot of Olivia Newton John who was diagnosed with breast cancer the day her father died.

Of course nowadays (as serious as breast cancer is) if it's diagnosed early enough there is a very good chance of a complete cure.

Hm, if the newspapers are to believed then apparently 8 patients with a heartcondition were moved from Melbourne hospital in order to give Miss Minogue the space she needed. What the frell! Had I been a relative of one of those moved I don't know what I would have done...

I read that too. As sorry as I feel for her, I also feel for those other people. She may be a celebrity but they all need treatment... I don't think those poor people are very happy about having to make room.

A spokesman for the Australian pop star was quoted on Sky News as saying the singer had not requested special treatment. Minogue, who cancelled part of her tour after being diagnosed with breast cancer, had a tumour removed at the hospital in Melbourne. The chart-topping star is recovering from surgery in Australia and is said to be in "high spirits".

Cancer is awful no matter who has it. But I do feel sorry for all those people who had to leave to make room for her.
