IT WAS THE CONTRAST BETWEEN CHILDBIRTH AND ANAKINS TRANSFORMATION THAT GAVE ME A LUMP IN MY THROAT!

I cried at a different part. Don't want to say anything to spoil anyone, but it sure wasn't Padme that made me tear...

I saw the movie last night and i must say that while i didn't cry ( i rarely do in movies) i was choked up in a couple of areas. This movie rocked, and they blended everything together well. I was not bored once with the movie. Two thumbs way up.

I saw it twice yesterday and loved it. It moved me in so many ways. I had a knot in my stomach from the time you knew he was going to turn evil on. It was so dark and wonderful, probably not as dark for some but for SW pretty good. I was completely satisfied with the ending and think that it dovetails perfectly with the old movies.

I do want to say this about the acting and the criticism it receives. Hayden Christenson was faboulous with his turn to the dark side. But does anyone not realize that the dialogue and acting are that way on purpose. These movies are based on a style of moviemaking from the 40s and the acting then wasn't always so natural and great. So I just wish people would lighten up about it and take it for what it is intended to be.

^^^ Too true. I didn't flinch at any of the dialogue because all the movies are like that. Most likely I'm going to see this movie in the double digits. The first time I saw it I was on the edge of my seat, even though we all know the outcome.

In 2 hours and 30 minutes I will brave the long lines and get to see it.

surprisingly it wasn't packed at all last night at my movie theater. I figured since it sold out of 6 theaters at the midnight showing that morning that it would be packed in the theater but there were still seats empty.

But you know something i find interesting. The movie was 2 1/2 hours long, but it didn't feel like it was that long. Everything flowed so well that it felt like it was over before it started. For example, Lord of the Rings was a freaking long move (any of them you pick) but there were points that you felt the length of the movie, star wars just flowed and it seemed short. I think that is pretty cool, good story telling at its best.

Yeah, usually with long movies towards dragging parts I look at my clock. But it seemed to go along smoothly and leaving the theatre I looked at it and said "Jeez, it's 3:00 am?" haha

it's because Lucas kept the individual scenes pretty short. you didn't have some really long sequences of dialogue. the longest scenes were always the action scenes and you're so engrossed that it doesn't matter how long they are.

did anyone else think the lightsabers were really bright? like, way too bright? i squinted at some points.

It was 140 minutes but it could easily have gone another 10 to 15 to pack in some of the background scenes with the senators and Padme etc but hopefully George will add that to the DVD release.

I thought seeing it for the first time was breathtaking. The SXF just knocked my socks off. The 18 months of post production was really worth it and it was visually spectacular. The air battles reminded me of the VR rides at Disney / Universal ... they were that good. The lightsaber duels were spectacular and so blindingly fast that I was blown away by them. And Yoda ... well, to see Yoda in action was worth the $5 in itself. :lol

I saw it again today and I loved seeing all the little things I'd missed the first day when I was ducking and cringing on the edge of my seat and moved to tears at one point. Little things that tied this ep so very well to what we saw in ep IV "A New Hope" more than 20 years ago.
Ewan was excellent in his role as Obi-Wan and his mannerisms - little things that Sir Alec Guiness did - were spot on. This guy has really done his homework on the original character and as Obi-Wan is older in this movie, Ewan did an excellent job in bringing out the beginning of mature Obi-Wan / Jedi traits that we saw in ep IV.

All I could think after seeing this is, "... boy do we ever need a Farscape movie up on the big screen!" :aok:

I have seen it twice in the past 2 days, and it was fantastic. I do have some issues with some things, but I won't bring that up until someone creates a spoiler thread for the film. :D lol.

But Star Wars is an epic, the saga always has been, so for the most part this movie was fantabulous!

Edited to add: And I cried like a baby, on many occasions...so sad...
