Need some Trading Card help

I have a question regarding a series of Rittenhouse trading cards. They have not been able to answer the question believe it or not, so I am asking the people who would know, avid Scaper collectors........ :D :D

There were a limited edition series of cards put out by Rittenhouse, limited to 1000 and it was an "F" Series of cards. Can anyone tell me about these cards? What type of value, rarety, etc. The cards are in mint condition, and they are numbers F2,3,4,5,6 . Does anyone know about these cards?

Well, I found the link on e-bay for the F2 card. The description says it is the Holy Grail of Farscape cards. This person is bidding the F2, with John and Aeryn, for $800.

That "F" card that is pictured in the link from BlueAeryn wasnt limited to 1000, it was limited to 50 and it was from a series of insert contest cards that when all of them were collected would spell out "WIN FARSCAPE CARDS" The "F" card of course was the hardest one to get which is what you would have needed to redeem the contest cards for a complete set of costume cards.

I just sold the "voided F" card but it isnt/wasnt worth $900.

What are on the fronts of the cards that you have? Are they hand-numbered on the back?

Wow serveral hundred dollars for small peices of cardboard. I don't understand this. The rarest Heroclix sells for only a about 2 hundred, and it's a foot tall.

Youre missing the "group shot" card which I dont think was numbered but it was the first card in the set. Let me see where I put that pic at.

All I know is that they were limited to 1000 and I probably didnt get them for more than $30 cause I think I purchased them through Rittenhouse.

What season are you talking about?

I think the base set of Wormhole cards was the best in terms of images.

Those Revenging Angel animation cell cards were nice (from Season 3) as where the Gallery cards from Season 4. The Gallery cards had a piece of plastic inserted into them with the same image that was on the card. Kind of like a color negative type thing. They would probably be better appreciated with a piece of white paper behind them to make the image "pop" out.
And of course the costume cards are cool.

No I dont actually. I'm in the process of trying to get rid of them all but the In Motion card set I had went pretty fast, cause thats a hard set to complete. :)

If you need any loose cards I have a lot of doubles of base sets and some insert set doubles and I believe I have costume cards from Grayza, Jool, Jothee, Noranti and Braca and I think I have some auto doubles.

I'm cleaning out me closet, everything must GO! :lol


PS - did you see that Rittenhouse Archives is coming out with an update set for the Wormhole release? There's Fran's auto as Akhna and more of those sketch-type cards by that guy (his name is escaping me at the moment) :)

Wow this is a real education on cards!!! i am starting to learn about all of these things. Anything you could add to educate us on collecting, please let us know. Do you have any of the FS In motion close encounters cards? I have 2 and am looking to complete the set. Also, I keep finding there are all these subsets I am unfamilar with.

No, I dont have any In Motion cards at all anymore. :) That is a hard set to complete.

All of the card sets have subsets. They are the reason the sets are so hard to complete sometimes.

The expansion set will be all new cards.
Advice: Collecting cards can be expensive so be prepared to invest some $$. And also be prepared to not be able to find a card here and there cause some of them are very rare.

Aside from In Motion cards, are you looking for anything else in particular? I have Season 1, 2 and 4 complete sets + the binders. My Season 3 set + binder is only missing one of the sketch cards. I'm not going to give them away though. :D Then I have a bunch of loose cards that were doubles. I might have a complete subset here and there from the different seasons, but I would have to look.

Oh wow!! Well for the close encounters I only have 2. C5 and C4

I have 3 the good the bad the ugly U11, U17, and U4.

I have a loose season 3 base set card that only had one missing. I have a ton of incomplete season 3 sets and I would love to give them away. All I need is that one card (several copies if possible, and they would be a perfect raffle prize Season 3 card 207.

Also, any quotable Farscape that is not seaon 1. The primary reason I am doing this is for a display binder for Toronto Trek and I really like the pretty aspect of the quotable cards. Any behind the scenes might be cool too. Anything loose I do not mind, I just care about the pretty factor.

I am going to try and give away as many base sets as raffle prizes for the con.
Does anyone have any advice as to hold individual sets togethere? Should I wrap them in pretty paper? I do not think I could afford clear glass cases.

I can look for that #207 card later today if I have time. I'll also look for any quotable extras I have.

Maybe if you just wrap the cards a couple of times in plastic wrap/saran wrap. It wont protect them from denting, but it will at least keep the together. You might want to put a piece of paper on the top and the bottom, just in case the plastic wrap/saran wrap were to stick to the cards and pull off the images on accident.

That would be correct. I actually am basically giving away my card sets compared to how much I paid for them, but I just want to have the room in my closet. I think collecting cards/comics nowadays wont bring much in the future, cause EVERYONE collects something. Years ago, only a few people thought to keep those things (even fewer in mint condition) thats why that stuff is worth a fortune.

I do have a couple of costume cards. I cant remember what season they were from. I have Jool, Jothee, Braca, Grayza and Noranti. (I dont have an extra Moya costume card, cause that was only in the binder).

Well if you wrap it in tissue paper first and then the saran wrap, it might work. Either that or put them in Ziploc bags and after sealing, add tape to make it a snug fit.

I've found that if you wait long enough you can usually get the cards you want at a price you want to pay. If you're like me and have to have ay, the DA1 card right away, you pay $277. That card went up for a while to $380 and it is coming down now.
As an example.
Although you can't get a better deal than LilOrion's sets with binders. Had I not collected everything individually I would jump at her latest auctions.

Actually I feel kinda odd pimping my auctions on the boards. And I really dont go to Kansas, so I'd feel REALLY odd doing it there.

But I think I might talk to Akimbo and ask if it would be okay for me to donate $100 from each card set auction that is won to the convention fund they have set up (the name of which is escaping me at the moment). Then I wont feel odd advertising them. :D

That would be about $1.62 in US. Thats good. At one time you couldnt get them for under $5US. Like I said, that In Motion set is a pain to complete.

All in Canadian funds, and I usually don't plan on spending more then $3 CAD for a card. I think at the begining of the con the 2 close encounters cards I bought were 5$CAD each. Hopefully I can try and get the comeplete close encounters set for $16-$18 CAD.
