Geek shopping indeed. Cool looking shirt anyway.

I had to remind myself what Shrodinger's paradox was...i haven't looked at it in a while.

I'd never heard of it before, but it sounds very interesting and very complex.

shrodinger's paradox experiment:

suppose you have a cat and you place this cat inside a steel box with a vial of hydrocyanic acid and a little bit of radioactive particles. if the radioactive particles decay within an hour, it trips a mechanism that breaks the acid, killing the cat. now, say you don't open the box and after an hour you don't know whether the cat is dead or alive. according to shrodinger, because you don't know and the cat could be either alive or dead, it's actually both, according to quantum indeteriminancy. QI states that until you change your observation of the outcome by actually observing the outcome, there is no outcome. so basically, the cat is both alive and dead simply because you haven't found the outcome.

*sigh* I cant go to thinkgeek anymore, I have my credit card numbers memorized, bad things happen.

Reminds me, it's late, I need to go to sleep (hey, just pretend this forum had strikethrough) put a shot of Sky Rocket into a glass of Pepsi.

The paradox sounds pretty dumb to me *no offence or anything* but it is a cool shirt.

it has to do with quantum mechanics and improbability. what i wrote was the basics of it. it actually goes into a whole heck of a lot of detail and math and stuff and it involves principles that i don't have the time or energy or mental capacity to try to explain cause i don't understand half of it myself.

i wonder how shrodinger would react to a comment like that...hmm.

Schroedinger's cat (http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1373117&lastnode_id=124) is a brilliant theory.

It's like if you come home to find that the power has gone out, but you don't know when. Has the ice cream in the fridge melted, or is it still okay? The answer is simply "Yes".
