Well? Is anyone watching any tv or online coverage? I'm watching MTV, streaming AOL's coverage and I'm on the news wires.

This is part of my internship. So I'm sitting in an office on a bright sunny day. But I watch MTV so that's okay!

usatoday.com is blogging all the locations so if you go there and look at the live 8 feed, you can find updates for all cities at once. that's what i'm helping out with.

how much do you want to bet that geldof is going to put the concerts on dvd, sell them for profit, then donate the money to african aid? if he didn't donate it to african aid, people would probably blast him again...but if he did put it all on dvd (and i mean, all of it) i'd buy it in a heartbeat. yes, despite mariah carey and joss stone's incoherant singing.

Not watching it.

They aren't giving any money to charity.

I don't like, or even hate all the bands on the card.

Ah, when Rap didn't suck!

I wish they had gotten a reunited:
Black Sabath
Judas Priest
Anthrax

or have Lamb of God come out. I would love to see a Live 8 sized wall of death.

At least we'll always have Ozzfest

Too bad they aren't any good Ozzfest tickets left here. I don't feel like paying a crapload of money to sit on a grassy hill a long ass way from the bands.

Lamb of God headlining tour is about to come through. Should rule.

Gak! I'm showing my age! I got excited when The Who played. I've only seen bits and pieces. I mean, who can stay inside and watch TV all day on a Saturday when there's so much dren that needs to be taken care of? Plus, it's a gorgeous day! Who wants to be in? Anyway, I'm sure it'll all be on DVD later and I can buy it (or not).

I soooooooo wish I could have gone but sadly I didn't! :( However UK tv was fabulous as it covered everything- BBC2 covered it up to after Wimbledon finished I think then main coverage swapped over to BBC1. I also think the cable channels also had different coverage aswell so I was spoilt for choice!! It was fab to watch it with no breaks just continuous coverage!

Amazing day though and how could I forget the likes of U2,REM Duran Duran and UB40? Apart from Robbie though I think Pink Floyd was the biggest surprise- I didn't recognise the tracks but I loved the performance so much I may have to go out and get one of their cds! Also had to chuckle that The who did both tracks which front two of the CSI shows! :D

I soooooo hope there is some sort of huge DVD which has all the concerts on from all the countries so that we can all watch it all at leisure! There were so many I wanted to see which I missed.

Was an amazing event and the size of those crowds watching was amazing.

I'm curious though- John Mac Enroe implied that the concerts/event were not such a big deal in the USA. Am curious as to what the US and other countries made of the whole thing? In the UK it's been pretty much everywhere and is a huge thing- much like Live Aid was back in the 80's. I suppose we could kind of compare it to the US superbowl over here in terms of everyone would be watching or listening.

Muse was soooo good. I practically squealed when I saw them go on stage. I had no idea they were even going to perform.

Well, I would say it was a pretty big deal - MTV and VH1 both covered it live for 8 hours, and then ABC (one of the broadcast networks) covered it in primetime for 2 hours - showing excerpts of the performances. Although, not as big a deal as the superbowl.

AS- I had heard that Muse was going to perform in Paris, as were Shakira and The Cure, so I just kept watching the Paris feed till I finally got to see them perform :D

I'm amazed by the big names, even if I can't stand any of them. Suprised they got them all together.

Glad the show was good. A metal Live 8 would rule. (especially since the closest thing to metal on the card is Velvet Revolver)

i watched Hyde Park and Philli concert ...
I thought the highlight of the day was Robbie Williams chatting up Fearne Cotton backstage, telling her she was blossoming since he last saw her...ive never laughed so much in my life.Robbie your a star mate!
Richard ashcroft was just beyond cool.
Maria carey should have not have upset all the dogs at Battersea dogs home with that appauling squeali...eh i mean singing.
I snapped my fingers along with Will Smith
i cried when Bono sang Unchained Melody.
Who dressed Jonathon Ross in that suit?
Pink Floyd were worth staying up late to watch, the drummer looked like he was having the time of his life!
I wet myself during Ricky Gervais' dance routine...
Dissapointed in the finale,i hate that bloody Hey Jude song,it wasnt appropriate in my opinion, they should have ended with footage of the origonal BBC broadcast of the Famine in Ethiopia.Or the origonal live aid concert.Yeah it would have brought the tone down but if people wernt starving to death in the most awful circumstances we wouldnt have been there would we?

I loved Hey Jude! It was appropriate that they ended with Sir Paul.

Will Smith got so much applause. I'm glad he performed in Philly, it's his home town after all.

Mariah Carey was so horrendous.

I love Robbie Williams, he's just got so much charm. He really could be James Bond.

It was one of the last minute editions. The stadium was only like half full too, because apparently people didn't know how to get tickets through the lottery system they were employing.

And... OMG.. I just read that David Walliams and Matt Lucas dressed as Lou and Andy to introduce Elton John!!! :faint: I love them! :D
