Mostly energy-sector - old gas stations, oil and gas pipelines, oil refineries, etc. In my spare time I practice Aikido, a Japanese martial art :) And I've just joined the local professional chapter of Engineers Withouth Borders, so hopefully I'll get to start working on one of those projects soon :aok:

I've been a club DJ for over 20 years...
5 years in Buffalo, New York (Eggertsville Inn, The Chat N Nibble, City Lights, Cathode Ray and Cafe' Rumors)
And 16 years at TBL (The Bottom Line) in Fort Myers, Florida....

I worked for a small Graphic Design Studio (Grafix Shell) with fellow Scapers (Holly & Thomas - both have attended the Burbank Con)
Due to some poor business decisions, I was let go and then opened my own company last fall - Ajar Ad - Advertising & Graphic Designs...
And via one of my clients - a Model/Talent agency, I've become a photographer...

So, I guess when I took the FarScape Personality Test
http://home.earthlink.net/~kngobern/farscapetest.html
I was alot like Pilot.... so it was pretty accurate in my case...

I'm a software engineer / architect working for a large international corporation that is operating in Europe and the US. I work closely with clients to design and implement software solutions. In my spare time I've recently started doing fitness again. Problem with office work is that you don't do a lot physically besides walking to the coffee machine and taking the stairs now and then.

I'm a Graphic Designer, I was working full time for a firm but now I'm self-employed which can be both very enjoyable and very difficut. I work with a number of different ad agencies around town and have some out of state clients. I work out at a local health club up to 3 times a week trying to keep myself healthy and centered - I've found that for me excercise is the best way to relieve stress and anixiety!

Marketing & Administrative Associate/Shipping Manager (basically a Jack-of-all-Trades) for a music software distributor. :D

I try to write on occasion in my blog, and I was a songwriter (lyricist) for a good number of years. Also did some screenwriting. After being out of the creative scene for quite a number of years, I'm now slowly beginning to write again (songwriting, and a possible screenplay idea - collaborating with my brother... maybe).

'Scaper, scanner, oh, it gets boring after that I'm afraid...
I proofread documents and there are all kinds of grammar and spelling rules that the company wants us to follow. Some of it is interesting, a lot of it is boring.

The company is http://www.lmconsultants.com/ --the website is the best explanation of what the company does. Basically all kinds of property assessments for investors, banks, purchasers. Really mostly businesses and apartment complexes and highrise buildings, etc.

Oh yes, at home I am a semi-professional procrastinator and can often be found napping or channel surfing when not on the Internet.

I am a Financial Analyst. I work nights processing literally hundreds of millions of dollars in (mostly) credit card charges from around the world every night. But it is processing, so it's largely repetative and boring. Except where there's system problems, which are more frequent than they should be, but they provide the much needed change from the nightly routine.

I'm *hopefully* going to be moved to a project liason position soon, provided funding for the position is approved. That would be a sweet job though. And I'd report directly to the departments VP (my company has sooo many VP's).

I am Parish Secretary at the small Twin Cities metro church I attend, started here last November after being unemployed for 8 months from my previous job of 3 1/2 years.

Something no-one knows about me?*laugh* Well, I think most of you all know by now that I like finish carpentry, renovating my late-Victorian farmhouse, laying brick paths and patios, pouring iron, landscaping and gardening.

But I am also a typographer who lectures in business card design, a published poet, accomplished singer/songwriter, aspiring novelist, freelance graphic artist, and single mum of 3 extraordinary children.

Well, I am a secretary/admin.assistant/executive secretary/office manager. You put the title on it, I am it. I also do the reception work and bookkeeper duties. I have worked in the same place for 20 years and with an employee number of less than 10, we are more like family than co-workers. In fact, my boss and I will try to see who can sneak up on the other and "tag, you're it." It is a lot of laughter here and I love it.

Hidden talent? Well, I type 100+ WPM and in the 6th grade, typed faster than my teacher. If that's not what you meant, I play the piano and the violin and sing with my mother and sister at church often.

I forgot to put my hidden talent.

hmmm.. I can sing pretty well, but, I won't let anyone hear me.
I can dance. but, the only people who knows this go out with me to a dance club. Oh, and, I can act (more so if I did it often).

Hardly anyone knows these things about me. Most see me as "quiet" or "reserved".

hmmm.. yeah

I'm suposed to be a detective of some kind, but I haven't found any of those jobs I can get yet. Or a bodyguard, but I need more schooling for that.

I'm thinking about working the rail at concerts or doing some bouncing as well, but it looks like security guard right now. I just have to find one close enough, where I won't be spending as much on gas as I get paid!

Still trying to get my writing career going as well.

Well, I've got a B.A. in English and a B.S. in biology. Fat lot of good that's done me so far. I've been drifting between dead end low-level jobs and chronic unemployment since graduation. But as soon as I can figure out what I want to do with my life, I'm going back to school and you can call me a grad student.

As for hidden talent? Well, I'm an as yet unpublished author, so I guess to all the editors out there that still counts as a hidden talent. And I can play about 3 and 1/2 instruments and write my own music for them.

Saajak
08-30-2005, 10:22 AM
I have a BS in Biology but that hasn't helped me much. I started out as a C/S Rep in a call center and moved quickly up to Dept Assistant. THis mostly entailed reports, reports, and more reports. We went through several layoffs and I ended up taking on the other two Dept Assistant jobs as well as back up for the warehouse and front desk. Recently our telecom engineer left the company and I got that job too. Oh, and I have a part time job as a cashier at Wal-Mart.

eta: I used to draw alot, and I sometimes make jewelry.
