View Full Version : simple wishes . . .

As memorably quoted by Freud in "Civilization and Its Discontents":
Mine is a most peaceable disposition. My wishes are: a humble cottage with a thatched roof, but a good bed, good food, the freshest milk and butter, flowers before my window, and a few fine trees before my door; and if God wants to make my happiness complete, he will grant me the joy of seeing some six or seven of my enemies hanging from those trees. :wb: Before their death I shall, moved in my heart, forgive them all the wrong they did me in their lifetime. One must, it is true, forgive one's enemies -- but not before they have been hanged.

My simple wish -
I would love to live in a small town, in a rural area, in the middle of nowhere. Seems like I would be able to get some kind of peace that I just can't seem to find living in a city. I want to have a few kids, and a lot of animals.
That would be bliss.

i want babies.
I got that biological clock going on too freckle...annoys the hell out of me, as I won't be able to have kids (financially) for several years.
But I'm 24. I'm starting to worry about whether or not late 20's or early 30's is considered too late to have a first child.

I want a Shelby 351 Windsor engine for my 'Stang, to replace my bad ass, yet problematic 302. I would also like to get a new AC condensor, since mine is cracked to hell.
A job would be cool, as would a girlfriend ;)

I´d like to get a job abroad and leave Germany (it sucks a bit here lately  ).
Judith, I see it like freckle, 30 is not too old to have your first child. My mother was 32 and most of my friends who are expecting their first child are 29+. IMO it´s better to wait until you´re financially able to have one than to rush it and always have to worry about how to get the money for food, cloths, toys and the like.
Im getting married Oct31 2006Congrats!
and plan to be with child same night!!Does your hubbie know? :D

Fertility takes a dive at thirty-five, and a bigger hit at 40, so you want to have your first kid before thirty-five.

I wish you the best of luck freckle. It`ll work out just great, I know it will :)
I wanted to marry by 22 and have a bunch of kids... now I hope I will have one by 35... see what happens, maybe it`s not meant to be.
My wish... happiness to my loved ones and all the good beings... and selfishly, peace- a frelling break of this madness. Or maybe just the strenght to bear it...
dreaming of happy things.

My sister just had her first child - or should I say children. :D She had twin girls. Perfect in every way.
And she is 41.

I would like to have 2 or 3 close (true, loyal) friends to spend time with (in person).
And no hungry children anyplace on earth.

I dont think any of us in the normal world is financially stable for kids. :D
I waited and I had my daughter when I was 30. Emotional stability is the best time to have a child.

y'all can have my numbers! I told my parents when I was 3 1/2 years old that I did not want babies, and I have not changed my mind one time, for one nanosecond, since that date. :)

When I was younger, I didnt want them either. I was scared to death after seeing a friend have them. But as I got older, I wanted one and I waited though. My daughter is 6 now and she is everything in my life. I wouldnt change it any other way. I would never tell someone that they should have them or when they should have them. Everyone has their own decisions and I respect them all. :)
You can babysit mine. Shes got a great sense of humor and shes a Farscape Fan. :lol

I've never really wanted to have kids myself. When I was 16 I was forced to watch a bunch of birthing videos in school.
I think that has cured me of any desire to have my own children. Though once in a while, I've thought about adopting someday.

so, one comment and then a wish... trown out for your consideration freckle, and generally... wait a moment before you go the kid way right off the bat. Let being married sink in first, 'cuz even if you live together now, that ceremony thing cases a subtle [or not so sutble] shift in everything. Being preggers right away doesn't allow adjustment, or enjoyment... and untill you kick the kids out of the house when theyre olde enough, they will always be there, you will always worry about them first. From a guys pespective this causes some curious things. After getting over they hyper-horny pregnant woman part... then suddenly?
She's not yours anymore.
You just got married and already you have to share. If you're lucky. If you're not, it can be really tense, because she can just go this other place where it's her and the kid... and oh, yeah, who are you? Depending how the finances are that can also pull you apart... These things may be true regardless of age. If you wait an extra year it's not going to make a difference to your "clock"... but it may make a difference to the home team. You need time to get this team together, to get ready for the team to raise a child up. Perhaps he knows little about children, and will need some 'learnin, or perhaps you will.
All IMHO, and YMMV... but yes I have 2 kids... sadly the marrige didn't last.
Now as for a wish... well I'm a root cause kinda guy, So I'll wish for peace, within and without. For if you are at peace, then you bring people to peace, and if you bring people to peace, everything falls into place, and then? There is nothing we cannot achieve.
