I can't put my finger on it, but the last couple months my computer seems to get alot of static build up, you even get close to the metal and you can tell its static, it can hurt to the touch. I'm not sure what the issue is, it had never done this untill I moved into my parents house.

It may be due to the room its in in the garage isn't the coolest and without a fan is like a sauna at times. And my computer will not turn off randomly if I'm using too much power, mainly when I'm playing games.

any suggestions could be great.

If it is misbehaving with too much static maybe it should be grounded until learns how to behave.

Or taken to an electrotherapist.

I have no idea what I am talking about

...grounded until it learns how to behave... :roflmao:

Seriously, oorat, if your computer (cpu) is sitting on the floor of the garage, that may be bad. If so, get it off the floor, even if you put it up on some bricks, that may help. You may be right about the 'climate' in the garage also. Try using a fan to circulate the air a bit. And, you can get anti static mats to put on the floor and 'ground' the computer. I am not sure how all of that works. Check with some computer 'geek'. Anyone???

well, its not on the garage floor, its on a table in the garage. the static mats are a good idea, i hadn't thought of those.
