Anyone having trouble with Starburst edition 2.2? I'm having errors on the first disc (same error on 2 players). I also had to return Starburst 1.2 . Is this an ongoing problem with ADV?

I never bought the Starburst eds, but from what I've heard there has been quite a lot of problems with the discs.

I know that older players really don't like double sided disc like the starburst editions.
If you have a problem with it, contact ADVFilms and they'll send you a replacement. you can contact them through their website or call them: http://www.advfilms.com/Filmscontact.asp

I noticed a lot of places have a policy if the movie is open you can get the same one for a replacement. Just can't get a different movie. So if you bought it locally try that first. Make sure you keep your reciept.

I have it packed for a return to DDD. As mentioned, this is my 2nd return for a Farscape Starburst DVD. They really need to have better quality control. I contacted ADV more than a week ago, no answer yet. I have played this disc on 2 machines, one player stops altogether, the other one stutters through it.
This is mainly inconvenient, but it does concern me as they roll out the next 2 seasons. I was mainly curious if others had this problem or am I just twice unlucky.
Thanks all

I think ADV has serious problems with quality control. Least the Starburst a cheaper. I had a lot of trouble with the original releases and they were very pricey. I contacted ADV and they never responded :( I've been using the Starburst to get a true working full set of Farscape and that is sad :(
I've had problems with 3 of the five Starburst sets. With the 2.2 set, it froze 39 minutes into LATP1. Fortunately I bought this one locally. Best Buy had a second copy, which they exchanged for me. And that one plays all the way through.
ADV is very slow about exchanges. I had similar problems with 2.1, which I bought from Amazon. I should have contacted Amazon instead of ADV; I bet they would have replaced the discs a lot faster.

Like I said in my last post. Buy locally, you will get an exchange a lot easier than going to ADV. Let the local place worry about the defective dvd just go and get the replacement. If like Amazon, for example; try going through them first.

That was my thought as well, the next starburst I'll buy locally. The cost of returning this already outweighs any tax or shipping benefits. They should really get their act together, I was hoping to purchase all 4 seasons in the Starburst format.

Two of the three volumes from season one gave me problems. So I wouldn't have to deal with exchanges for every new release, I sold the three on ebay and have decided not to buy anymore starbursts. Fifteen bucks may be cheap for each volume, but going through exchanges all the time just to get the same episodes over again with a few extra commentaries just isn't worth it. Perhaps if they had gotten some of the side characters to do commentary too, like Gigi Edgley, Wayne Pygram, Lani Tupi, Anthony Simcoe, and Virginia Hey, instead of only Ben Browder, Claudia Black, David Kemper, and Rockne O'Bannon, I would have reconsidered.

actually they do have that already have commentaries with Virginia Hey, Anthony Simcoe, and Lani Tupi on some of the non starburst editions.

Only a couple or so for season one, and they're for the earlier, mediocre episodes.

So far I haven't had any problems with all five Starburst Editions. I had serious problems with the original Farscape sets though. Most of season 1 doesn't play in any DVD player I've tried (at least 6 different ones) and ADV never responded to my request for a replacement. If anyone needs to contact them, I suggest calling them instead of e-mailing them. I have never received a response from ADV through e-mail.
