I'm so jealous at hamsters.They can carry so much stuff in their cheeks without any trouble.This is my hamster Eidelon.

It's grand mother had once over 60 nuts in her cheeks.Eidelon is still young.My hamster's are very talented and smart.Eidelon is my own breed in I don't remember how many generations.But I started mars 1996 to breed this line.
Hamsters can put stuff in their cheeks before they open their eyes.That's before they are 2 weeks old.A hamster mom can but her babys safetly in her cheeks if she feel disturbed.
They're very interesting creatures, but sadly they live a too short life(1,5-3,5 years)

I remember this time I almost lost my first hamster. When I found him I panicked because he was holding stuff in his cheeks and I thought someone had stood on him and his jaw bones had become dislocated :) (I didn't know about their cheek pouches at the time).
